Who was robbed at the soap awards? *Possible spoilers*
I know the actual awards show has not been on yet, but i'm sure many people already know the results.
I'm not sure if anyone has already done a thread like this. But post here who you thought should have won an award but someone else did. The biggest one i can think of is best dramatic performance There were two people up for it (Charlotte Bellamy and Emma Rigby) who really deserved it (i really wanted it to go to Charlotte) but it went to Jo Joyner???? HOW??? There aren't really any others who i am really angry about, but that one really got to me. What about other people? |

Jo won that because she is a brlliant actress, and has been right from the start, she makes acting look so easy, just like June Brown does, and Lacey. Jo is one of the best actress in soap.

Emma got best actress - she can't have both and I dont think the other one is that well known/popular. Jo is a brilliant actress, would of preferred her to get Best actress really but happy she won BDP.

I am happy for the Hollyoaks boys that they won best on-screen partnership as it is a good tribute for them seeing as he's left. However I really really would have loved the Mitchell sisters to win it. I don't belive they were robbed at all but I would have slightly preferred them to win.

Emma Rigby should have got Best Dramatic Performance.
Jo Joyner should have got Best Actress, she is simply better and more consistent than Emma. Jake Wood was robbed, I wonder if he had been on this "dancing on ice" would he have won instead? |

I am wondering that too! ^^^ (keller)I love Justin but he hasn't exactly done much this year compared to Jake/Max. He has had an affair, had a baby, gone through all the christmas fallout, been buried alive and loads more

Nobody was robbed. People think their opinion is the only one that matters and that if their favourite didn't win it's a travesty. People voted for who they wanted to win and a panel decided the rest, if your favourite didn't win - get over it. We know it's a popularity contest for the most part anyway.
Glad to see Hollyoaks clearing up though.

No one was robbed. The people who won, won because they had the most public votes or the panel voted for them.
You can't be robbed of something that was never yours to begin with. |

I personally think Rita Simons and/or Sam Janus should have got something- they have been fantastic additions to the cast and a real hit with viewers!

Jo Joyner won that award fair and square and to be honest, I couldn't think of a more deserving actress. I'd have rather seen her win best actress instead but I'm happy to settle for best dramatic performance because it's great recognition for her unrecognised talent. Jo Joyner has been well overdue an award. I'm really pleased that the panel chose her amongst the rest because I think it would have been really unjust if she hadn't. As an Eastenders fan, Jo Joyner winning something for her contribution was what I was most passionate about, probably more passionate about them winning best soap and thats saying something
IMO Jo is the best actress on Eastenders (along with June). People go on about her only being good since Christmas (fair enough) but I dont buy it. Jo has always been great. So natural. I know I've used that term lots with her but that how I see it. Jo in my eyes is the most natural actress on eastenders. As another poster pointed out, she makes acting look so easy. Jo has not put in one average performance yet. She has been consistantly great but it had to take an emotionally charged and dramatic episode like Christmas for some viewers to see really rate her. |

I do agree i think Jo Is a brilliant actress and i think she should have won best actress and Emma or Charlotte should have got dramatic performance.
About Charlotte, (i know it was a baby death) but i have never cried for a soap before but i cried to that, and it wasn't just the baby death because i did not really cry for the still baby in corrie. So IMO i really think Charlotte should have got BDP. |

I think all the awards should have been voted for by the general public.

Emma got best actress because shes carried the hardest storyline of the year almost single handedly and has been good for the whole year Jo Joyner was only good for half of it for that reason the awards were the right way round in my opinion cause theres no doubt they both deserved something, The only strange winner to me was Chris Fountain over James Sutton.

I think Emma Rigby should have won Best Dramatic Performance, Jake Wood should've got Best Actor, & Alison King should have won Sexiest Female.
Other than that I agreed with most of them. Oh, I would have also have chosen Heather/Shirley for best on-screen partnership.

I agree with most of them however EE should have won more awards as they have been the best soap by far! And they have the better actors/actresses

IMO Hollyoaks was robbed of best storyline for either Hannah's anorexia or the JP/ Craig thing; either of these were deserving of the award.
James Sutton or Guy Burnet should've also got Best Actor instead of Chris Fountain Dot's single episode should've got best episode as it was trying something different and was very powerful |
