Hi,

Just bought the LG 37LF66 set, which i'm happy with, but I'm having trouble with getting the audio to work.

I have a Vista media centre with an 8600GTS graphics card, with a DVI to HDMI converter plugged into the back, then an HDMI lead plugged from that to the TV. That works great and I'm getting a nice picture. I've plugged it into the HDMI 1/DVI input on the TV, I've also connected a 3.5mm audio lead from the media centre sound output to the pc audio input of the TV. However with HDMI 1 selected I get no sound through it.

According to the manual this set definitely supports this setup.

I know the sound output is working and the audio lead is working as when I select RGB input on the TV, I obviously get no picture but I do get the sound coming through. I've read around on forums to no avail, the best saying I need to change the HDMI audio to analogue - however there is no such setting, so I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

The best I'm thinking now, is that I should be using a DVI to HDMI direct lead as I'm wondering if the hdmi to hdmi lead I'm using has the audio pins connected and hence the TV set is detecting this and not enabling the PC audio input?

If anyone could provide some incite I would be very grateful!! I know I can use an amp or something like that, but that's not the point I'd like it to just work how it's meant to

it may be that you need to disable hdmi audio in the bios - try that

You should also check which audio output is the default (analogue speakers or digital spdif and which audio device - some cards have their own audio controller for DVI/HDMI output), especially as you're using Vista.

hey ave got the LG 32LC56 and a media centre pc. I have to use a dvi-hdmi converter to from my pc-tv. The pc audio input you are using only gives audio when u have the pc connected through the RGB input on the tv.
You could route the audio through an amp or home cinema system like i do.

hope this helps.
