Home & Away RTE2 unavailable to Sky NI subscribers
Does anyone know why today RTE2 has blocked out H & A to Northern Ireland sky subscribers? I thought at lunch time it was an error but it happened again tonite at 6:30.
Odd. Very odd. |

It is probably a rights issue, but I'm not sure.
I do recall a thread in the broadcasting forum concerning this. If you do a quick search you should find it. Steph |

Surely RTE2 can't be ahead of 5, as there's only approx 5 weks' difference with Oz. Bizarre. Watch the lost eps on YouTube. Type in Home and Away 4632 (for example) if you want today's Oz ep. Oz weekly eps finish with a 0 or a 5...

because RTE used to be ahead of Five and Five didn't like that, as they had in their view bought the rights to have the European Premiere of the show, and are pouring loads of money into the production of the show. It's the same sort of situation as what happens for sports games etc.
Incidentally as far as I am aware Five are now ahead of RTE by an ep or 2 so it doesn't really matter to the viewer anymore! |

RTE are an episode behind Shite Five but they probably think its still taking away viewers from their much watched station.

This is strange.
I Sky+ Home and Away everyday (the 6:30 slot), without any problems. Tonight I start watching it and I get a message after 6 minutes: "Recording interrupted. Please wait". Anyone know if this has anything to do with the original post? Anyone know where I can watch it again? |

I tracked down the episode on YouTube. I am thinking maybe it is best to record the episodes from 5 from now on, and catch up with the other episodes online.
Neighbours in repeated early each morning - H&A should be too! |

Has it never happened before? I thought RTE's screening of H&A has beem blocked in the North for quite a while now.

No - never happened to me before. I am quite near the border (I live in the North) but this is the first time it has happened. I have it on series link, so it records away and I watch it each evening.
