It's a seperate ring fenced company that solely exists to provide an epg for those broadcasters wishing to pay to be included in the epg (This includes the BBC).
It's nothing to do with say freesat from sky or free to air content not on the Freesat epg.
It 's a joint not for profit organisation by the BBC and ITV whose intention was to fill in the holes in the terrestrial Freeview service with as similar a service as possible.
Nothing wrong with detailing changes to free to air content from EB1/Astra2, indeed a thread in the Satellite technical forum on the same lines would be most usefull and interesting. Why not start one ?. It would then be possible to follow how changes to the Freesat epg line up and other channels relate to each other.”

I agree that FTA non freesat info should not be in this thread however I feel it would be better in a thread on this forum entitled "Channels available in non-freesat mode" or similar, after all how many freesat users are aware that there are channels available on their freesat boxes that are not on the EPG. Putting such info in a non freesat forum is depriving many of them of the info required to increase the pleasure they get from a freesat box (at least those are capable of non freesat mode).

However the info is available in an up to date format from quite a few sites

) and there are others. Freesat could do with someone with a bit of common sense in charge deciding what the channels are called on the EPG.
no proper indie/classic rock channels FTA now
