Should the producers exclude those from demographics that have already won? I mean should there be no Irish, Scottish, Scouse people in it? I think it would be more interesting to have some more diversity. I mean was it necessary to have 2 Scots and 2 Scousers this year? And why do the Irish always finish in the top 2? Bias perhaps? I would like to see an Englishman win or a Geordie lass or Brummie for a change!

I don't care where they come from, what colour they are, what their sexual preference's maybe or if they have any disabilities.

So long as C4/Endemol treat them all the same and show all their good/bad points on the highlights/BBLB show each night and stop their manipulation of the viewers.

Then just maybe, we might actually get a winner that really deserved to win.

Alas it will never happen.

first two series of big brother had no scots
third series, lynne lasted a week (i think)
sandy did a runner not long afterwards
fourth series, fed and cameron,
fed went after 4 weeks
and cameron wins

just 4 scots from over 40
housemates in 4 series

I dont think they can choose someone Christians and teetotalers who admire superficial manners would like again, cos these voters are probably at odds with the demographics the advertisers go for and the younger audience probably wont relate to them I suppose the truth about Camerons win is that the other HMs had so little support that C4 should be grateful for having Cameron there this year cos without him the voting figures would have been a lot worse than what they were. Only Jon seemed to have support but not enough on the double eviction night it seems (though he got more votes in a couple of hours when he was voted back in. He wasnt far off Scotts total in just a few hours that night)

Cameron appealed to quite a few large sections of society but they are at odds with the majority of viewers who watch BB and not the demographics that the advertisers want either IMHO

I dont think it matters about where they are from tho you never know. I suspect Ray got 2nd cos of an Irish vote (which is ironic since he goes about in an England top)

just a little something I conjured up

whatever they do, I suspect we need slightly unstable people or downright baddies to make it interesting sad, but possibly true

What planet are you from? May I suggest that if Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish people aren't good enough to watch you switch off your television and get back to campaigning for the BNP.

How is bb bias for Irish housemates?
And two English people have won bb before. Craig in bb1 and Kate in bb3.

There have also been 4 Irish, 3 Scousers etc. What is your point? 4 out of forty is a lot when you consider they could easily have their own BB in their respective countries. I bet they would not include English people though!

As an ethnic minority myself, I still think that there should only be people from BRITAIN in what is after all a BRITISH BB! Wales and Ireland and Scotland were not in Britain the last time I checked! We might as well have some Aussies, Africans, Americans thrown in for good measure as well!

Actually Wales and Scotland are - it's the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain includes Scotland and Wales.

The Republic of Ireland isn't part of Britain though and I'm not sure if Irish contestants (from Eire, not NI) should be allowed to enter.

erm, Ireland or Eire, is not British, but Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are I believe

Britain: A country in W Europe comprising England,Scotland, and Wales and Northern Ireland.

Instead of voting next year save your money and buy an atlas.

Do they not teach geography in schools anymore? Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are in the UK. So far (iirc) all the Irish people that have been in BB lived in England and were therefore eligible to enter as UK residents.

They did not teach you I see! Let me explain it simply for you. Ireland, Wales and Scotland are not in Britain. You see Britain is a separate country. People born in Ireland are Irish not British. People born in Scotland are Scottish not British. People born in Britain are British. Geddit now?

I don't think it matters which part of the UK (or Eire) the contestants for BB5 come from, sadly I think those chosen will carry on fitting a 'type' the producers are looking for. Much was said in the behind the scenes programmes about how they are selected in view of how they think the contestants will interact and however you look at it, it is a pantomime and the contestants are chosen merely to fulfil cast roles in such. Last year was advertised and hyped up to be the year of conflict and this year's was supposed to be the year of harmony and more akin to BB2. This is what makes it really boring for most of the time, and what makes some contestants more memorable than others, love them or hate them, is when they step outside what they are expected to be.

Do you not think you are confusing the term British with English? British means someone from Great Britain, ie United Kingdom, not only England.

But we are all inextricably linked by demographics, our history is interwoven and we are all a sum of our joint past, (for better or worse). I am a mixture of English, Welsh and Scottish and would be happy to have Irish blood(or any other) in my family. Britain is fast becoming multi racial, and if we can't enjoy the diversity that has existed for thousands of years, how can we hope to cope with the greater diversity that is happening now and will continue to happen?

Although Eire is a seperate country, it is connected to and loved by a lot of British people. I have enjoyed the diversity of HM's, and look forward to more diversity culture wise and age wise, on the next BB's.

The Orkneys, on the other hand, should be sold to Norway

People born in England are British (and English)
People born in Scotland are British (and Scotish)
People born in Wales are British (and Welsh)
People born in N Ireland are British (and Irish)

All of the above have BRITISH passports and citizenship

People born in Eire (S ireland) are Irish

Thought you had misunderstood the meaning of the word British anyway, back to your idea, I don't agree.

So the visually challenged or just plain s****! were reading British, and thinking you meant British when you actually meant English, but had typed British???

So apologies then for thinking you meant British, because you typed British. Obviously we should have known you meant English, but then we are visually challenged or just plain s****!
