Beyonsay, just to clarify (and please note I'm a FRIENDLY poster), when you stated that the Scottish and Welsh aren't British, I'm sure you meant to write English.
Britain is the name of the island we live on. It contains 3 countries - England, Wales and Scotland. All three of these nationalities can consider themselves British (only some Welsh and Scottish do though - most prefer to call themselves by their own nationality, nothing wrong with this. I'm both English AND British). Ireland is an island consisting of Northen Ireland and Eire (Republic of Ireland). All natives of these two countries are 'Irish'. The UK is a 'united kingdom' of the 4 nations - England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It confuses most adults so please don't take it as an insult that I'm correcting you. Blame the p*ss poor geography teachers we all had to suffer for years and years!

I am not interested in having a rounded knowledge of subjects, just brain surgery will do me fine thanks. As for intelligence I think 11 gcses, 4 Alevels, and a predicted first in my medical degree, plus Mensa membership means I am no idiot contrary to what you think. |

Exams do not indicate innate instinctive or emotional intelligence - merely a capacity for learning data. And one's IQ is irrelevant - it merely measures your ability to take IQ tests. Can you operate on yourself? |

Now in the words of Gos 'leave it man, just leave it' . We can agree to disagree on what constitutes intelligence. Okay? Or are you still spoiling for a fight? I am not.

Right B, lets get this right. You claim to be significantly younger than Jade (indeed you state in earlier posts that you are 18) so how can you possibly be predicted a first in a medical degree. At best you can only be in the first year of such a degree and so no predictions as to a grade would ever have been thought about, let alone branching out into sepcialism. Get your facts right please and stop talking above your experience.Quote:

Well me for one just about to finish a Doctorate in Geography related subject and the careers left open?? Investigating the reasons and effects of climate change, pollutant transport to your drinking water, flooding risks and ways of stopping this, effects of sea level rise on shoreline communities etc etc. All rather vital in the current climate don't you think. So off you pop back to your students union and think about how you are going to handle yourself before hitting the real world and don't be so dismissive of others. |

As for intelligence I think 11 gcses, 4 Alevels, and a predicted first in my medical degree, plus Mensa membership means I am no idiot contrary to what you think. You say that your speciality is neurosurgery and that brain surgery will do you fine. Then you say that you are predicted a first in your medical degree. I assume that if any of this is true that you are still a medical student. Are students now specialising in neurosurgery?? You see in my day, after first passing the medical degree, they then had to be a junior house officer working for a team then a senior house officer working for another team, for a year, before they were even qualified to practice as a doctor full stop. Then they would choose their speciality, which is not guaranteed but if they were successful in being taken on by a team they would be a junior registrar usually for several years, studying and submitting papers, until they managed to get their two sets of exams for the fellowship of their speciality. Then a senior registrar, again often for several years, until a consultants post came up that they were successful in applying for. In surgery, I would have thought that this process was necessary to qualify for membership as a surgeon before even beginning to think about neurosurgery ..........this dream would be many many years down the line for a medical student, if they were lucky. Now things may have changed and I know the way the NHS has deteriorated, maybe you could enlighten me. Surely junior registrars, house officers or medical students are not now practising neurosurgeons??

To claim I know nothing about anything else but medicine is hilarious! My membership of Mensa incorporates an extensive knowledge of analytical subjects and I also have general knowledge about loads of subjects including being fluent in 4 languages etc but geography is not one of them. I apologise for not being perfect and not knowing everything about abso-bloody-lutely everything! BTW there is nothing alleged about it. I AM smart enough to become a brain surgeon and my mentors have all predicted a great future for me. They are respected men and I care more about their opinions than any of the less educated opinions here. For the record in a burning building I would hope you had the brains to call the fire services and not a brain surgeon. I was obviously too optimistic!

I am too intelligent to lower myself by arguing the same point over and over with those who are not on my level. I will not waste my valuable time further. I am off to enjoy the sun. Meanwhile why don't you all go out and get yourselves a brain? Maybe then you would not have such a big chip on your shoulders. Don't be jealous just because you can't be me.
Goodbye. You are the weakest link. !
