Ooh I have a question for anyone who's seen Cabaret. Does Sam plays Sally as an english girl or as an american?

(was watching Liza Minelli's biography they other day and they said Sally was english in the original broadway production but Bob Fosse change her to american when Liza was cast in the film. )

I saw this show yesterday and Sam gave a really strong vocal performance but her acting is still a little weak. Wayne Sleep as the emcee really stole the show

The pensioners in Eastbourne looked more than a little shocked after the matinee performance - I'm not sure they were expecting quite so much simulated sex and nudity!!!

(if anyone still reads this)

I went to Cabaret again for the 2nd time on sat! It was even more amazing than last time and I loved it even more!

Especially stage dooring Sam again! It was awesome, she gave me a huge hug and we had a lovely chat for ages, got another pic and autograph (which makes it 6 pics and 7 autographs now so far)

I was at Cabaret with Laur and Holy Sh*t Sam is amazing. Great singing, great acting, great chemistry with her leading man. Amazing.

They should get it back in the West End with that cast. (except Wayne Sleep he's the weak link in the cast).

thats awesome!!
i went twice, i would have anyway, but loved it even more the second time!!
it was on a much bigger stage than the 1st time i saw it, so i got to see the whole show, as i think they had to cut some bits, like Wayne appearing in the O at the beginning.

im glad someone other than me is still writing on here lol!

I haven't been on the I'd Do Anything forum for ages, but I saw Sam in Cabaret in Glasgow this afternoon. Wow! I liked her on the show but it's only seeing her live I realised what a strong voice she has. She was terrific, as were all the cast (though Wayne Sleep sounded a bit hoarse; I wonder if he's got a bit of a cold?)

Anyway, just thought I'd post how much I loved her performance!

Helloo,

I've never posted on I'd Do Anything, but I've just had the pleasure of seeing Samantha Barks perform as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and thought she was amazing! I think she truly captured the young naive character perfectly, and her voice was immense, especially in "Maybe This Time". The whole show was amazing and I hope to see it again!

I wasn't Sam's greatest fan on the TV show, but tonight she proved to me what a star and great actress/singer she is! Simply Amazing! You MUST see this producution, it's the best interpretation of Cabaret I've seen, and the ending is particularly shocking and poignant.

Good Evening, Regards,
Astraeus
