compaire this with other shows (sound of music, phantom, wicked etc, it is not that huge, and this show is more about the olivers, fagin etc etc)

if rachel won it, i think she would merge into the background of the ensemble, where as sam has a presense that makes you watch her”

Yeah, I think people forget that really the shows focus is on Oliver and Fagins gang rather than Nancy. At the beginning I wasn't much of a Sam fan but I started watching her more closely in the group numbers when there singing songs from the actual musical she really does shine out. She optimise's what I think Nancy should be like, young, vulnerable but a bit brash and fiesty.

yup, in the group songs my eyes are drawn to Sam, and even yesterday in the Nancy/Joseph group song she really stood out again for me

I don't see it myself, these boards are stuffed full of negativity about Sam.

I've never got into a show this much, I feel genuinely angry and peeved!

I hope their right, but I sorta don't if you know what I mean. I don't want people to dislike her even more.

Sam needs to show her more vulnerable side.

I hope she gets the chance to even if it is just to p*** off some members of this forum.

when i first read that sam was doing defying gravity, i thought oh no, it's never fair when one girl gets an MT song and the others don't. then i found out they chose their own songs, and i don't know why none of the others picked MTs, i really don't. muppets.

just watched the whole show on iplayer (yesterday i'd only seen the actual song clips on the oliver site) and sam blew me away. really good, and i'm also really jealous that she got to meet idina!

Even though I prefer Niamh over Sam, she completely caught my eye in the South Pacific number, and I couldn't stop looking at her- she was fab!

I've said along she's my fave after Niamh, and now Niamh's out, it's Sam to win for me

I feel sorry for her tho, her and Niamh were best mates, she might be a bit left out in the house

Sam will win. She's not brilliant, but the best out of a substandard bunch

^I'd like to think she'll win

I always question my views when certain people post negative posts towards Sam then I watch back her performance and realize I shouldn't question them. In my eyes Sam is a real star and definitely my Nancy and I no longer care about other people's views (thankfully)

I'm surprised at how much I liked Sam doing Defying Gravity. At first i was unsure - I'm so used to listening to Kerry Ellis that the song sounds quite empty to me without someone who can really ROAR! But comparing it to Idina Menzel, whose voice is weaker, brighter and perhaps less consistent than Kerry (but still good), I thought she was great.

I've just found out I'm going to the live show next weekend and I'll be cheering Sam on all the way!

Agree with the OPs about staying in here, just really got my back up on one of the other threads :O(

I thought it was pretty good too! I'm glad to see some wicked fans actually liked it, I didn't think I would.

It's nice just to be able to talk about performances and not have people commenting on the girl' characters when they've never met them.

Great to see Sam has so many supporters who don't seem to get into that like some others. That would mean a lot to her.

So excited to actually get to the studio next week now

I think Sam has a good chance of winning the show now, and I'd love to see her do it.

Apart from the bit about 15 secs into her performance where she went off ( I think a lot of Sam appreciators acknowledge her weak start to most songs, strong middle, fantastic finish) I think the rest was better then the 'Idina' (sorry sp?) girl
