Connecting a Foxsat HD box.

Hi,

Just installed a Foxsat HD and it's a great pic. Now a question for the resident boffins. How do I take the output from it into the 9200 and record it because I've just realised that we watch very little TV as it is being broadcast.

You can't ... the 9200*** is a DTT receiver it can not accept DSaT input.

Sounds like you'll be watching a lot more live broadcast in the future ... unless you buy a general purpose HDD media recorder.

You'll be able to upgrade to a Humax DSaT PVR in about 3-6 months time.

Hmmm, that's the answer I expected but I hoped one the geniuses that frequent these forums would come up with a way - even if it meant getting down and dirty with both boxes. Still it's early days yet and they love a challenge.

Possible but extremely expensive and certainly only SD output - you would need a professional encoder to convert the freesat box output to DVB T standard and convert that to an RF output that your DTT box would tune to. Cost in the high 3 figures if not four figures. Your 9200 records a raw data stream direct from the tuner and decodes that on playback. This is true of virtually all Freeview PVRs. The only boxes easily capable of recording the output of the freesat box would be a HDD/DVD recorder with one or two exceptions of DTT DVRs which accept recording from external sources.
