Well, if it fails to meet the specifications I will, of course, be the first to scream blue murder.

[rhetroical] Where did that old saying come from? [/rhetorical]

You'll see that I've chosen the one without Freeview, so it should be a bit better than the base model with it's 8ms response time and Freeview, and both have a Samsung panel.

Well, received my eBuyer TV yesterday I ordered this one [click]. But it doesn't seem to be the one I ordered. No, if anything it's better - full 1080p and 1920x1080 native resolution.

Missing my PIP from previous screen though - so looking for some way to get RGB scart signal from my Virgin STB to my PC - so I can have TV in the corner. DVB-T doesn't work to well here.

Well, I'm off for a rummage round to see what I can get!

it could be a case of the computer problem............ everyone has one and thats probally why the price is dropping down

the only way forward now is to go beyond 1080 p

As the resolution is the same, 'downscaling' doesn't really apply, and all Plasma's and LCD's display in a 'progressive manner' - although neither is really correct.

I can't see any reason for a set that will accept 1080P, but not actually display it as such, to convert it to 1080i, then convert it back for display - more likely it will only display alternate frames, giving the same 25 pictures per second as 1080i does?.

On the face of it, the £299 (inc delivery) Dabs Value [click] seems exceptional value, offering 8ms response time and 1:1200 Contrast Ratio.

But, what are the downsides of buying such a cheap monitor? What can't it do that a £600 Sony or Panasonic can do?”

Thanks! My old set had turned green so I was looking for a sub-£300 replacement and was suprised to find this one is now £250. I think this will suit me fine for the time being.
