I think they got a remote control helicopter to fly over the house. I think last year one plane banner flu over with an England score from the World Cup. www.banner-bunch.com --- this site has been dead since 2001. |

Originally posted by sympathy Yea i agree with you there completely! I much prefer the US Big Brother to the UK one, but the only thing i dont like is the evictions, if there was a big crowd like the UK version when a housemate leaves then it would be perfect. So i say for BB5 UK, we have BB USA but with big crowd when someone leaves!
The only thing wrong with BBUSA is the fact they have crappy evictions. Apart from that I'd love to see your version over here! |

How uncomfortable did Dave look when he was greeted by one of his former army pals.
They should fly some of the UK crowd over. |

Problem with the crowd thing is they are too damn noisy and remaining HMS can get an idea about the evictee from boos/cheers and that affects the game.
BBUSA1 had the crowd etc and it's exciting in it's own way but I have to admit I love the no crowd thing. I have got used to it for the past 3 years and even Julie Chen has grown on me LOL! My fave banner from BB2USA was the one for Monya, who sat playing Back gammon for most of the season. BB's very own Arabic Riddler (Nobody understood a bloody word she said except "True Dat" .... "Dats riggggghhhhh" and "Its awwwwwwwwwwwn!" ![]() The banner was: 8/16/01 flown by: BB2001DLSU "M ITS NOT ON - BACK 2 YOUR CHAIR" So funny, I'll never forget it!

Well, the producers have their reasons for axing the public vote, but I think they could introduce the PUBLIC VETO. As usual the HoH nominates two people and then the public vote to save one of the nominees. All housemates except the HoH then compete in a Veto Challenge, with the winner choosing the replacement nominee. The housemates then vote between the remaining nominee and the veto replacement.
When three housemates remain it would then be the public that decided the winner. Alternatively, a final competition would determine the last HoH. The evicted housemates would then choose which of the other two housemates go into the final, with the public deciding the winner. Other alternatives are like said in the opening thread - a BB3 style system as used in week 1. All housemates except the HoH face the public vote for eviction, and the housemates decide which of the two with the most votes are evicted. Therefore, the producers get their moment of truth in the live show. And obviously, the easiest way to bring it back is for the HoH to nominate and the public to decide who is evicted. This is the system I'd use if it was introduced into the UK - I think introducing the Veto would initially be too complicated as producers would want to keep the nominees secret until the day the lines open. However, the HoH could nominate on a Monday. The Veto competition could take place in the afternoon with the winner being secretly informed who is nominated and whether to use the veto in the diary room. The HoH then makes a third nomination in the diary room (anyone but the Veto holder) but would not know if the veto had been enforced. The final two nominees are then revealed on Tuesday. |
