Slingbox Advice
I've recently bought a slingbox but am having problems viewing it from abroad.
I've only been able to test it from the hotels unreliable 1mb internet connection but its a bad picture and freezes a lot. I'm moving into an apartment and will sign up for an internet connection but my upload speed at home in the UK is only 240kb/s so is it worth signing up to anything faster than a 3mb/s package or will the upload speed determine the quality of the slingbox more than my download speed? Does anyone with a slingbox have any experience of using it abroad or what speeds work okay with it, I'm looking into changing my isp at home to try and get one with a better upload speed. |

Hi Mate
If you can get it sign up to BEthere.co.uk great sevice and is very good for viewing the slingbox remotely. I get a 1mb upload and 4mb download. My cousin can access my slingbox is spain and can go full screen on a 15" monitor and is very watchable also most like viewing it on tv here. Yes the better upload speed u can get the better. |

I agree its the upload that is the key. Have you done a speedtest.net at home to see what upload speeds you are getting? When you try it away what speed are you getting to the slingbox?
