Piper333, apparently Sam's the only one with MT this week because the girls chose their own songs (how true that is I don't know!)

I still can't help thinking about why on earth Jodie would pick 'Holding out For a Hero'. The two main things she's been criticised for are overacting, and tendancy to lean towards cabaret. Surely that song will provide avenues to both accusations? I figure they've maybe had some direction in what their song must convey (ie. ability to dance, ability to show feistyness...), so maybe Jodie had to pick an upbeat number. But it makes me worried. I really want Jodie to do well! I hope she can go out there and prove me wrong. I think she'll be safe though. She has a huge fanbase.

I'm still in two minds about Defying Gravity too. I think because I know and love Wicked, the song has a lot of meaning to me. But I forget how many people aren't obsessive musical fans- how many people will have actually heard the Wicked OST? If Sam does a decent performance a lot of people will have no basis for comparison and will either love her performance, or be less inclined to vote because they don't know the song. If she does a mediocre performance the Wicked/Idina/Kerry/etc fans are going to be screaming blue murder, but to those who haven't seen/heard Wicked it could still appear to be a good performance.

Rachel's going to have to pull something out of the bag to redeem herself to the judges this week. I just hope she doesn't go back to steely staring and outstretched arms. I enjoyed her performance last week. I will always love you is a song everyone has heard before, so this could either go in her favour to a great extent, or secure her a place in the bottom two.

Naimh's song this week I'm really looking forward to. I hope she puts her all into the acting side of the performance. Could potentially keep her out of the bottom two.

Jessie... we don't know what she's singing other than the fact it's a ballad. The pannel will likely love it because it won't involve movement.

I love Whitney's version (great to howl along to in the car ), but when Dolly sings her version I picture the scene in the film and then I'm gone LOL! So romantic LOL!

Is that photo implying it'll be Daniel and Rachel too? I'd be happy to see that.

I'm guessing the combinations might be:

Ben - Sam
Jodie - Lewis (we know this now, but it wasn't a really obvious match!)
Daniel - Rachel
Jessie - Keith
Niamh - Rob

I'm trying REALLY hard not to think of conspiracy theories LOL!

I mean Jodie and LEWIS????????

Daniel & Rachel will be good together though.

Oh Jodie and Lewis singing `Dancing in the Street`

From that picture it looks like Ben is with Niamh.

No, I think it looks like he's with Sam. There's another sheet just in view beside Niamh and I think that's her Joseph. Wonder who he is!
Don't Rachel and Daniel look cosy?

Lol I can`t quite make out if that`s someones <Lewis?> shoulder next to Jodie. Also Jessie is missing from the picture as well as Keith.

IF they are standing in some sort of order.

Lewis, Jodie - Rob, Rachel - Daniel, Sam - Ben, Niamh, - Keith, Jessie ?

Can`t wait to watch them all tonight, regardless whoever is partnered together.

I miss the Josephs

Lewis, you've been tangoed. Jodie and Lewis shall be interesting! I wouldn't have paired them together as vocally compatible...

I forgot how much I fancied Rob...

Lewis & Jodie
Daniel & Rachel
Ben & Sam
Rob & Jessie
Keith & Naimh

(Although the bottom two could change over!)

Can't wait til tonight!!

Rob is a bit of a random addition though - he's not doing MT right now as opposed to the others. Shouldn't it have been Craig?

Wow, I can't believe how many spoilers we've had this week- we know everyone's solo song choice, except Jessie, we know the group song (we think), we know what the mission was, and about the Joseph pairings, and about Lewis/Jodie and their song choice too!

I love spoilers

Last week we didn't know anything...

Somewhere it suggested Jessie's song is Over the Rainbow but I can't remember what thread I read that in nor do I know if it's from a reliable source.

Craig is on the tour ... so Rob is stepping in as he did for Ben in the Joseph/Maria special.

He is 'substitute' Joseph if you like

I agree. Pairing Jodie with Lewis is very odd.

Well a part from Lee I would say the favourites were Daniel (who left stupidly early), Keith (came second, and the only other Jo who wasn't in the bottom two), Ben (was in the bottom two in the first week, and in week 3, then managed to get through to the semi-final on public support), despite the fact Lewis came third I don't think he was ever as popular as those three.
