No worries, just wanting to know if it was just rumour, or from a reliable source. Thanks

No problem. I've been lurking here for ages. Only got remote internet access now so I've only just found out how to post. Been so frustrating. Hopefully I'll now be able to join in more so hi everyone

Worried about Jessie, Sam and Rachels choices

I think Jessie and Niamh have got the best songs.

And Sam's has the potential to be amazing, but I'm nervous for her- it could go so badly wrong....

I assumed it was LeeAnn Rymes? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFnD3uwKHag

The song you mentioned is called 'Without You' (and did someone already sing it, or am I imagining that?)

Holding out for a Hero really fits Jodie's voice, but it could end up a little cabaret. Niamh has a great song. Sam's could go either way, fantastic or a mess, Jessie has a good song but I can't imagine her singing it, and Rachel's has just been done to death!

Yep, that's what I thought it was as well.

It's "How Do I Live" orig by Trisha Yearwood later covered by "Leanne Rhimes"

Hmm. So Niamh has probably the best song choice - let's see what she does with it. Jodie's could go either way, though vocally she should be absolutely fine. Jessie and Rachel have two of my least favourite songs ever (because let's face it, Rachel'll be singing the Whitney Houston wail-fest version), and, well, we'll have to see how they sound - I'm slightly more optimistic for Jessie, but who knows. Samantha, I'm actually cringing already...

actually, they both wanted to record it at the same time, but Trisha was older and considered the better fit, there was a whole to do about it.

Hi Piper, thanks for the welcome. Should just point out though that it's not me who works for the bbc, just a mate of mine who gave me the info.

He confirmed that the songs were all chosen by the girls themselves this week as well.
