Tonight's episode was SO misleading (and unfair on Raef)
Krule

I don't feel very satisfied after tonight's episode.

Alex and Claire were made to look amazing, whereas Raef was shown to be useless.

Alex

Alex claimed he made the most sales and therefore he was best. This is really misleading for two reasons:

1. This was a wedding show exhibition where everyone was coming to buy wedding DRESSES! Alex was given the task of selling the dresses, whereas Micheal and Sara were given the almost impossible task of selling cakes - they were doomed to begin with! Alex's statement would only have held true if they were all selling wedding dresseswithin the same space of time.

2. Alex was selling cheap dresses of a hundred or so pounds each (since they sold about 10 and only raised just over a grand). This is an affordable sum of money for which people have the capacity to make a decision to buy on the spot. E.g if you go to Primarks or BHS, you'll buy something if you like it, you don't care about the sales pitch of the staff! Whereas the other team had an enormously greater task of trying to sell dresses worth over £2000. It's simply not comparing like with like.

Claire

I'm not happy about Claire being made to look so good either. She wanted to go for the low cost dresses, and team would have arguably lost if they had listened to her (since they would have lost the accessories deal too). It was due to Raef's 'high-risk high gain' business strategy that eventually led them to making the best decision.

Also it was unfair showing Raef trying to call in passers by who walked away...they were ALL their for 8 hours trying to call people in...how many of the others must have been in that situation right through the day!!

So another task where people come out looking great and being complimented just because the camera catches them showing a bit of charm and sucking up to a few people...whereas others are made to look weak through lack of recognition of the their work or being delegated impossible tasks.

Raef is a TEAM player. He tries his best for the team, even if that means he's behind the scenes. Claire and Alex are both exceptional GAME players...they have shown no support to their project manager in the past, every task their main motivation is what will make them look good, and both are able to defend themselves really well in the boardroom.

...maybe that's life, those that look and sound the best are always the most recognised.

Feeling unsatisfied...very much so! Anyone else??

I hear what you're saying.

Raef's decision to stick his neck out and persuade the team to sell the higher priced dresses is what ultimately won them the task because not only did their sales generate more money, but they also secured the lingerie line to accompany their main product. However, I suspect Claire could have sold the BHS dresses equally well - she's a natural in that respect.

As for Alex. He's one lucky fella. I truly believe he's blagging it. There's no real talent there whatsoever.

I don't think Raef looked useless. Indeed he made the right decision to go with the top of the range dresses. He may not have been quite the best when it came to bringing in the customers but no-one candidate can be 100% and overall he is pretty good.

It was the dress decision that won them the task in the end. Raef should have been praised for sticking his neck out and taking a gamble (and he admitted all along that it was a gamble).

Alan DEFINITELY appreciated that Rafe took a punt on the expensive dresses, and this risk alone brought them the victory.

Helene's team took in a paltrey grand from the dresses.

Rafe's dresses took in FIVE GRAND. Yes Claire sold them and sold them well...but the Rafemeister had the balls to go for the better dresses. Alan knows it. Trust me.

He is also a wake-up to Alex.

I agree, I was a bit puzzled by the spin the tried to put on it on your fired, because if people (IE Nick) were going to blame him if his gamble on the dresses didn't come off, then you have to give him the credit for the fact that it did come off.

IT doesn't matter that Nick credited Claire, Alan has already ignored two pleas from his aides to kick out Sophocles. Alan will not fire Rafe, I just feel he won't. Not until at least the penultimate week.

No I was referring to how early in the day, Nick was implying that Raef had made a mistake in picking the designer dresses, then later, when Helene's team came back in to the boardroom seemed to suggest Raef was correct after all. Just a shame he didn't say it while Raef was still in the boardroom really.

Yeah, that's true. Maybe Nick did admit he was wrong in excised footage.
