I think he fancied him.

That's because he was putting on the fake 'charm' . I'm sure once she'd witnessed him brow-beating all those people into buying a cake, she'd soon change her way of thinking!

The man was even more hideous than usual last night, and I'd have run a mile if he'd try to force cake on me at the show!

^^^

He was dreadful selling the cake - I'd have walked off in irritation!

I meant the male wedding designer btw, and I agree with Esqualita and Book-Club_Babe as to the reason he liked Michael.

But yes, Michael was putting on the fake charm and pretending 'passion' for the dresses, "Passionate" seems to be the new Apprentice buzzword - replacing phrases such as "110 per cent" and "I'll put my hands up".

So does chemistry, accounting-and even music.
But it has a right to be its own seperate subject. I'm thinking of starting the Arithmetic Rights Society. ARS.”

It is. It's totally separate, sometimes different teachers, and you can only do an Arithmetic O level, while you can do O and A level Maths.

Oops, I had the undies woman in my head - I'm losing it!

Him being 'passionate' about dresses - ' they're great' - not very enthusiastic IMO!! Faboulous, stunning and amazing would've been more passionate way of describing them!

I wouldn't have even wanted to sample the cake, both him and Sara had no idea of how to sell to people.
What exactly does he sell as a Telesales Executive, because I was one years ago, and you certainly don't need to be that aggressive to sell to people.
Sara was equally awful, how many cars does she sell in her usual job??

Great programme last night though still.

^ I thought he said a bit more about them than that? Wasn't that where he was describing outside in the street how he pretends passion to people, including women (rat)? Can't really remember though.

I thought the cakes looked attractive and I'd have been interested but no way would I have placed an order at the show. I'd want to consider how it fitted into my budget overall - and consult with the groom of course(!) - then probably go back to the retailer. The wedding dress on the other hand is a far more personal purchase and obviously one which women would make on their own and might well make on impulse.

I wonder as well what Michael sells as a Tele Sales exec. Alex was commenting that Michael's sales technique was too pushy because he was applying tele sales techniques - such as talking over the customer - in a face to face situation. I hate being talked over on the phone and just put it down.

In her exit interview Sara says she was doing "pretty well" in her family business. Her father became a millionaire by the age of 25. It makes me kind of think it was maybe a more cushioned work environment. Many of us would probably do 'pretty well' given such a start in life.

Aha- but does a desire to demonstrate ones superiority betray an inferiority complex???

It's clear to me that Sara has led a sheltered business life and that she was out of her depth in an environment where daddy wasn't around to help her. She is just a naive girl pretending to be a business woman, much like Lindi but less incompetent.

Michael is a disaster of a man lacking in any social skills or integrity. Totally transparent and utterly inept too. I don't know what he sells in his job, personally I don't think he could sell life to a dying man.
