As the title says!

I have recently set up my BT home hub and thought I would take advantage of the second line that it gives you over the internet.

I don't need another line for voice calls, so wondered if I can use it for my Fax Machine.

I've tried sending a fax and the machine at the other end answered but the fax comes up as error.

Any ideas anyone?

Not sure about the Home Hub but in principle it should work. I have set up FAX machines on a VoIP system which is not so very far removed from what the Home Hub is doing. So it can be made to work.

But as I recall the Analogue Telephone Adapters we use needed a couple of tweaks to their configuration to make them work 100% with a FAX, it wasn't exactly plug and play.

I doubt the tweaks we had to make apply to the Home Hub, as every device has it's own way of doing things. But if you have no control over the settings of the analogue phone port on the thing then you may not be able to tweak it to work anyway.
