Give me another chance, make me Project Manager...

I'm finding this so boring now. Everyone who knows they have messed up big time says this in the hope of being saved - and then when Sugar foolishly [and boringly] decides to give them another chance they nearly always mess up again the following week as project manager.

Didn't Michael say this last week as well? If so, how comes he wasn't PM this week :S

Helene - week 4, week 8

Lucinda - week 5, week 8
Micheal - week 6
Raef - week 2

Yes I agree.

It's a predictable ploy used to get a second (or sometimes third) bite at the cherry.

Future contestants take note!

I think Sir Alan should automatically sack anyone who tries that tired old line. I would if I was him.

Not quite, he asked to be project manager the week before he was fired, was made project manager, lost by about 50p and was then fired.

Ah yeah, in the BR three times running if I recall.

Four weeks in a row!!!

Actually, he shouldn't have really been called in after the art task, because he sold well and SAS made it clear he wasn't happy about it, and really the week they went to France he shouldn't have been in the board room either, because he and Kristen were the best of a bad lot that week. But I think when you appear in the boardroom 4 times in a row, your always likely to come a cropper.....

Do you mean Kristina? I was wondering who Kristen was.

Yeah. The France week, Paul should have took Katie into the boardroom. I can't remember why, but there was a pacific reason. His failure to take her into the boardroom (letting his 'personal feelings' get in the way of his leadership, as well as the fact his leadership was shite, led to him getting fired.

I forget where this post was going.

Claire didn't mess up in week 5, but then she didn't beg to be project manager either. Last minute deals or not, she won that task fair and square; despite some dodgy moments through the rest of the task.

Alex has been on the losing side many times and surely he has used his 'get out of jail free' card too many times on the strength of volunteering to be team leader in week one and then defending himself in the boardroom better than Nicholarse De Lacy Brown (not difficult). He's not done much of note since apart from sell knickers and chew his mouth.

I want Helene out next, then Michael and then Alex leaving Claire, Raef, Lucinda and Lee in the final four.

I'd go along with that

I found this funny and pathetic tbh, but after the "Good Jewish Boy" CV ploy, begging, lieing etc its all part of Micheals Boardroom strategy.

This week he must of sat there like a Rice Pudding as Helene took on the PM role probably hoping to stay out of teh search light this week despite his commant to step up last week.

In my opinion he was horrible again this week putting foward the plan to split it South and North London and then complianing it was the wrong way after he proposed it.

Selling the cakes was no easy task for any without previous experience but from what we saw there is a reason Kicheal does his selling from behind a phone.

but Helene was worse and should have gone, the only clever thing she did was turning the tide Sara way who did a poor job at making a case why she should of stayed.

Yep, it mega winds me up to. IIRC, Ghazal and Adam both used it last year. Both were fired soon after, Ghazal being the next week.

Didnt Simon also use it this year?

It's been done many times, and usually with the same result. The first I can remember was Alexa, when it saved her at Karen's expense, and then Alexa had the "100 chickens for 100 pizzas" fiasco and got fired. A more recent example is Simon, who hardly needed to use it at all. He then tried to be team leader and photographer, couldn't cope and got fired.

Off-hand I can't remember if it ever got used without the candidate being fired on the following task. I reckon it's part of the reason the proportion of team leaders getting fired is relatively high.

Did Alexa ever ask to be project manager? I don't remember her ever asking so she would be saved in the boardroom.
