Do you mean the cardboard ones like you get the coffee or shakes in? I always put mine in the blue bag, as we can recycle cardboard here. They won't take polystyrene ones though, but I don't think McD's do them anymore for that reason.

I always chuck mine on the floor when I'm in town, that way I know it will be put in the proper recycle bin / bag by the official street cleaners

Yes our macdonalds and burger kings has special bins for the cups to go in to get recycled!

My council provides a food and drink container recycling bank so I put them all in that.
