BB housemates don't rate Kyle, Jackie O
Quote:
“A month into the TV series, the radio shock jocks have come under fire from hundreds of fans on Big Brother forums and websites, with many calling for former host Gretel Killeen to be reinstated.
Last night's evictee David Tchappat weighed into the debate today saying he loved the couple but most of the housemates were not impressed.
"The housemate general feeling is that they didn't really warm to the housemates much," Tchappat, a 33-year-old firefighter, said.
"But they're probably still getting into it."
On the the official website hundreds have expressed their disappointment on discussion boards such as I Say Bring back Gretel and Kyle _ Unprofessional Twit.
Hundreds more have joined boycott Big Brother groups on social networking site Facebook.
"Those 2 loser host(s) are really boring the crap out of me – bring back gretel BB," writes gizmo8696 on the Network Ten program's official site.
Some said they were disappointed with the quality of the eviction shows.
"Not everyone liked Gretel, but she always kept the show tight and never let it slip to the rabble it has become," writes Deadstar11.
"BB is sooo disappointing in 08."
Another fan, Chezsquirrel, described Kyle and Jackie O as "a couple of dead fish".
"They have no idea whats going on half the time. Do they actually watch the show at all??"
Many were outraged about Sandilands calling last night's other evictee Nathan Strempel a "dog" for supposedly leading on housemate Renee.
"I really think Kyle has got to grow up be a professional and treat people with respect," writes Mattyjnr69.
Despite the comments, Strempel, a physiotherapist and self-proclaimed virgin, today said he had no bad feelings towards Sandilands.
He blamed the way the show had been edited.
"You can only comment on what you see," Strempel said.
"If you see 20 minutes of 24 hours each day, you get a different picture of the footage, so it can look different to how it is."
The ratings for Big Brother, now in its eighth series, have dwindled this year.
Last night's eviction brought in just over one million viewers.”
