For his entire time in the house, BB1 winner, Craig, never so much as hinted what he would do with his winnings. So those of us who admired the down-to-earth Scouse, none-too-bright, but with such a stong belief in right and wrong that he dared take on 'Nasty Nick' , were wonderfully gob-smacked when he, on exit, gave the whole lot away to his friend who needed vital surgery. It was a magic moment.
Ray, seriously in debt, said he would have given 10k to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Typical of the guy. Heart on the sleeve.
And Cameron, the winner, the self-righteous 'Christian', promised a piano to his church, and for himself, a 50k Lexus, and a trip to the USA.

Cameron, you earn over 4 times the average UK salary, and you've had a bonus payment of 70k for doing Fanny Adams for 9 weeks, when, no doubt, your salary is being paid into your account.
No one is asking you to be a martyr. But could you please try to be a Christian? Which is what you profess to be. Frankly, I'm not impressed by your self-indulgent trip to the USA. You don't need to give all you have to feed the poor, but could you manage a crumb or two, if you are what you say you are?

Right...Where to start with this...Craigs belief in right and wrong....hmmm...whatever...

He dared to take on Nasty Nick...right....He was taken in my Nick, more than most, and even voted to his masters bidding and leapt with joy in the bedroom with him when others were nominated....It wasn't until he was told about Nick that he did anything and then only with the others gathered round....and the others were equally involved..let's not pretend this was a Craig victory of any sort..for some reason he got the credit for it because he said the most in the meeting (Darren went and got the suitcase with the proof)....

"We were wonderfully gobsmaked"....yeah, right...those who didn't know a week before what he was planning to do with the winnings...it had already been conveniently leaked.......So it was less "magical" than predictable.......

Where does it say Cameron would buy a 50K Lexus car? Frankly, I don't really care how he or any of the HMs would have spent the money. It doesn't really make them any more or less deserving than the next HM; one only knows what their spending intentions are after the event anyway, otherwise extreme bias would become a factor in any voting consideration.

The real question that should be asked is whether or not they are deserving winners which is entirely subjective and represents another topic altogether. Indeed, this forum has been inundated with such topics (re: Cameron's tactics, his depiction, etc) so raising the question again would be pointless.

EDIT: And Goodfella is right about the piano/organ issue. Anyone on a £100K salary could easily have contributed towards a new one long ago, esp. if they are truly devoted to their faith. Further, if you wish to focus on someone's spending intentions then consider what they would do for others (not themselves) and ponder if they have or have not been able to do so without a BB victory, e.g. Steph paying off her parents' mortgage compared to buying a new piano/organ on a £100K salary.

I am certainly no Christian, in fact, an Atheist but I do admire The Salvation Army for their "forget the religion it's hands on approach".
Their motovation may be religous, but they get off their backsided and help all - with the likes of food hand outs and shelter.

It was funny a few years ago we had some localised flooding in one part of our town and many homes needed to be evacuated. The funny thing was right at the end of the street was a "well to do" Church, but no one from their went and helped, no one from there rolled up their posh suit trouser legs and waded in - But the Savation Army was there in force - opening up hall and getting beds sorted and informing families that their loved ones were safe!!!

So! I personally don't subscribe to their reasons for their actions but they are at least practicing what their Middle Class Christian collegues only preach!!!

Likewise, Edna. At least the Sally Army do something other from preaching and they do it in their own backyard. The work they do for the homeless has always been wonderful.
They show love and compassion for their fellow man regardless of their personal circumstances and they're always there in a crisis. I don't agree with their belief system but at least they practice what they preach.

Since when does the winner of BB owe us a detailed list of where every penny of the 70k is gonna go? Just because he hasn't mentioned a charity doesn't mean he's not going to do it.

When Cameron was asked what he would do with the money he might have thought that he'd successfully kidded everyone that he was a simple fish trader from Orkney who'd never been to London Town before and never seen a £50 note. Therefore he talked about a piano for the church, some home improvements for his family and a "once in a lifetime" trip to America.
(Not all churches have organs: it's quite usual for a Baptist church to have a piano).
However, despite his £100K salary I think he is a frugal person at heart (Scottish stereotype), witness his conversations with Steph when he talked about saving money on household products and own brand ranges.
Note also that the present he's taking his godchild is the toy giraffe he obtained on BB.

Apparently WWJD is a thriving industry, the Independent's cover pics show you can get WWJD bracelets, necklaces, teddy bears, mugs, boxer shorts, etc etc.

I took a peek inside a Christian bookshop today just out of interest... no teenies there, just a couple of oldies plus a nun.
And they didn't seem to have any WWJD wristbands (or sold out?!) - well, I didn't see any but I daren't ask
