I think this is for Jodie what "Footloose" was for Aoife. Very fast, up-beat, probably accompanied by complicated choreography that will make the vocal less secure. I think they're stitching her up with this one.
Jessie - How Do I Live
Jessie's going strong into the final with this one, I reckon. Slow, tuneful, allows her to do the sombre, sad & contemplative acting that she's proven a hit with in her performances of "Killing Me Softly" and "The Man That Got Away". She's well within her comfort zone here - she should do great.
Rachel - I Will Always Love You
Deary me. I think they want a Rachel vs. Jodie face-off this week. Rachel's proven in the past that her voice gets very screechy and unattractive when she tries to sing powerfully in the upper register. Everyone's going to think it's incredibly lacklustre compared with Whitney's original, so I think she'll be on the losing end. You never know, though - if she pulls it off I think she could possibly be in a strong position to win.
Niamh - Don't Speak
She'll sound lovely until she gets to the chorus - at which point she'll bring out her unattractive, emotionless shout. People haven't had a problem with it all these weeks, though, so I don't reckon they'll see an issue now. The judges will probably start telling her she's too young, and she'll lose votes because of it - Andrew's decided against her now.
Samantha - Defying Gravity
Wow, if this isn't asking for a cringey shoutathon from Sam. It's probably the most impressive song this week, but she'll just start yelling at the "money notes", then will likely be praised for her "emotional performance".”
They've done all their own stitching though, they chose their own songs.
