Nancys just don't do it for me.

Joseph had better contestants, it was more exciting and it had a simple aim, no 'individual vision' required.

I miss Joseph and the boys

Me too, ADWD was just an amazing show! Is it wrong that I can't bring myself to delete any of the old ADWD shows that are on my hard disk box over a year later?!?!

Part of my diet they are

I think Craig might even be missing ADWD too.
I reckon it might have been easier than what he's doing now as McJoseph on Tour. He's currently doing 12 shows a week for a three week stint. That's gruelling innit. Then he'll go back to just the 10

The boys may be off our screens but its great to know the boys fans are still around. Seeing some of the boys at the London Palladium in February was fantastic. Something about them when they're on the stage together, you can't help but feel happy to see them

I do like IDA but it hasnt got the heart that ADWD had for some reason. And DVO is a Class judge this year - while ALW is looking like he's in the middle of a mid-life crisis. I have definitely cringed more this year than last year.

I hope if this type of show comes back next year, we get another male version, though not sure what they would do, maybe look for a Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar or possibly a Marius in Les Mis?

Yes sure do miss ADWD....look at DVDs often.....however it was great to see some of the Josephs back on our screens last Saturday....even wearing those trousers!!!!!!..

The Maria's were the first of course and that was ok but then the Joseph boys showed them how to do it....now the Nancy's do not seem to have quite the same impact....maybe time to stop this kind of show.....don't think you could ever top ADWD....

We certanly didnt see enough of the Josephs in their coats!

Great to see them doing so well, and Ben and Daniel stood out in the group number

Just as a theory, perhaps a few reasons why ADWD was such a success:

1. With many people wanting Lee as Joseph from the start, it actually meant all of the candidates were working hard to improve themselves. If everyone is making stride and progress then it makes for a much better show.

2. Yes, the boys got teary-eyed but it made the show feel more emotional than ever.

2. Testosterone in tight jeans. Rawr.

Bring back the boys thrusting their hips and belting out good tunes.

I too miss ADWD but I am glad the series has ended and the boys can now get on with their careers.

At the risk of upsetting people. I do think we should be trying to get rid of the reality TV tag and celebrate them for their amazing talent and musical abilities. I think ADWD has served it's purpose and given the Joe's an amazing opportunity to further their careers. I know most of the boys have now got their own fan forums and perhaps we should be using that forum to promote the boys rather then being stuck in the past talking about a series that is over a year old.

Before people get upset do you think any of the Josephs would like to be tagged with the ADWD loser or winner title two years from now? I don't think so

I'm sure no one wants to be "tagged" but I do think we love going over the ADWD story because it was the springboard that got so many talented young men into amazing careers. (It's still fun to go back and watch them from time to time!) And Lee Mead may be known as the winner for Joseph but critics are now saying they can't wait to see what else he'll do when he hangs up his multicolored coat.

By continuing to discuss the show, we're not 'tagging' the boys - just discussing a show which we enjoyed! We know the boys have moved on (which is why fangroups for them have sprung up to discuss their lives and careers) and those of us who are fans of a particular boy or boys will continue to follow their careers as performers. However, I see nothing wrong with reminiscing about ADWD in a thread (such as this) which has been set up for the purpose.

On TIF there's a board devoted to HDYSAPLM, which is still going strong two years on! People have followed the girls' careers and seen their various stage productions and view the girls as fully-fledged performers, not reality stars! However, there are still ocasional conversations about HDYSAPLM - which is fine, because people have fond memories of the show!

There are fangroups devoted to TV shows which went off the air 25/30+ years ago! As long as people want to discuss them, why not?

Incidentally, I didn't think IDA was a patch on ADWD. The warmth and sense of comradary amongst the contestants (and amongst the judging panel) was lacking in IDA!
