Hi

I am currently renovating my house and will have space in a wall cabinet for a 22" LCD TV .Had a look around the usual stores yesterday and couldn't see much stock of 22" but when I did all were over £300 .Looking on the net there are 22" no name models with freeview on e buyer (vistron) from £189 delivered and a Mirai for just £235 .I'm not looking for a bells and whistles model just something to have on in the background while working or watching Corry while preparing the evening meal .I have never bough a tv off the net so any advice on these models would be helpful.Bearing in my mind my 3 other LCD's are all cheapo makes i.e Crown/Finlux(vestel) And Grundig (beko/Alba i think) and all are fine.Has anyone bought the Vistron for £189 delivered from e buyer ? it sounds so cheap but too good to be true pricewise.

thanks

Consider the warranty that are offered by the manufacturer and your supplier as well as price

I think Vistron only have a 12 month warranty , last time I considered buying a Mirai it had just changed to a std 3 year warranty .

I decided against it as the connections were all on the right side of the tv and not on the bottom of the back of the TV , so from the location of the Tv it would have made the scart cables stand out like a sore thumb

I went for this Samsung from BigPockets for about £240. It's 'as new' - they say they've had them open and checked them. I could tell mine had been opened but it hadn't been used. It smelt new and all its cables were still sealed.

I'd reccomend it.

A Samsung SM225 - it's really a computer monitor with in-built TV tuner.

A word of caution - when I asked about this set a few months ago other posters mentioned the sound quality was poor - primarily as it's designed for PC work rather than as a TV.

If the OP is happy with 'unbranded' sets - and it appears he is - then probably have no issues with another unbranded as that's most likely to fit the budget.
