I am not a Jodie fan. I just don't hate her.

I have said before... I criticize them all the same!

Maybe they see each other as the real competition. Personally I can only see either of those two as Nancy. Samantha is the best looking so maybe that adds to the tension with the girls!

There does seem to be two friendship groups within the Nancys and the girls never pick someone from their own friendship group. My impression is that in certain ways they are both similar (e.g very determined) so I could imagine that some kind of rivalry exists. And I think they're both quite thick skinned so I think they'd rather pick each other than someone with low self-esteem.

I think Sam's behaviour on Sunday had more to do with Niamh, the last person she was close to, leaving rather than to do with Rachel. I think they are both professional enough that no matter what has been said or done they just get on with it.

To be honest, I am surprised the girls haven't learnt their lesson about answering this question. It worries me that none of them have the good sense to either refuse to answer the question or deflect it someway (like making a joke about no one/everyone is not Nancy) like some of the Marias and Josephs did.

I agree - the Joseph's were much more savvy about this - any answer can be misconstrued to make you look bad.

I can only see Rachel or Samantha as Nancy, they both seem perfect for the part, I don't think that there is any animosity between them, its all hype.

I think maybe they see each other as their biggest competition and so say each other!!

I think Sam is beginning to believe her own hype. At the start I way preferred her to Rachel now its the other way round.

I agree with you totally about how Sam handled the results on Saturday - she was understandably more bothered and upset about Niamh leaving. Especially as she's now lost all three of the girls she was closest to in quite quick succession (Fran, Sarah, and now Niamh). I don't think it was a reflection of any particular tension with Rachel.

To be fair to Sam I've noticed that she has never really relaxed or celebrated during the results stage until the girls she was closest to got through safely. She reacted in a similar way to last night when both Fran and Sarah went out, but on those occasions she at least had Niamh as support.

As for none of them refusing to answer the 'not Nancy' question, or deflecting it etc, I think this may be down to age - at least for the three younger girls. At 17/18 you're far less likely to feel confident enough to refuse to do something like that. I would perhaps have expected a bit more resistance from Jodie or Rachel, but maybe in their eagerness to win the show they don't want to be seen as 'awkward' by not 'playing along'. Personally, I'm intrigued as to how Sarah and Fran would have handled the 'Not Nancy' line of divisive questioning, but we'll never know!

Omg i notices this aswell, whn rachel got saved i noticed sam didn't give her a hug!

i think this is simply the producers manipulating their 'cast' in order to produce some drama; ie entirely contrived

its a competition and they all want to win, so if they get the chance to point out someones weak points and 'big theirself up' then they are going to do that

I can only remember tham asking this question once in the very first episode of Joseph and I agree once is enough why keep asking them every week. The whole idea is now done to death and has no effect any more!

but...( forive me if this has been mentioned) as they were going to this weeks take, Rachel and Sam were linking arms chatting to each other!! I dont know if there is a rift as such, Sam probably just got on better with Nimah (and Sarah) so was more concerned about them going than Rachel staying...

I think for Rachel it must be quite hard to be told to take advice from a kid nearly 10 years younger than you. I don't see much friction between them I mean even on that little clip of the mission I noticed they were linking arms as they walked in. Maybe i'm naive but I genuinely believe they all get on, but clearly all of them want to win.

Sam might have been embarrassed when DVO said Rachel should study Sam!

I think I'd have kept out of her way. DVO didn't do Sam any favours by saying that. It's bound to get Rachel's back up!

i agree with that, i dont think dvo should have said that, but i have a theory thats to try and throw some conflict into the mix, as it would give good clips to show on the tv!

but watching back on the episodes, i agree with Hot_Topics she never seems as bouncy as some of the others, especially whilst she is waiting around for some of the others to get their results

i hope there is no true conflict, and that it is for the benefit of the show, but at the end of the day its a competition, and they all know that, and if there is it wont be the only show where there is conflict, i was readining a book from one of the pop idol contestants (michelle mcmannus) and there was some conflict between her and another person on the show

at the end of the day, they have thrown a bunch of strangers in a house together, expected them to get on, and be in competition at the same time, not to mention the long hours etc etc, so if there is some tension, then it would only be natural
