Friction between Rachel and Samantha?

Well I think that they all get along fine apart from Sam and Rachel. Did anyone notice that seemed to go into more detail about why they didn't think either one was nancy, than either Jodie, Jessie or Niamh did about who they chose. They kind of said it in a spitefull way aswell. Rachel SAID, "I Just think she's too poppy."

All I'm saying is they were a little too enthusiastic when they were saying this about each other.

Pretty interesting a radio interview with Sam, she was asked about any friction with Rachel.

If you can't be bothered to listen she just says it's like picking a name out of a hat and they knew they'd picked each other so it was ok.

I had a feeling they had a pact on who would pick who. Their reasons were all the same as judges had said before...nothing new. It's the horrible side of the BBC.

I hate the whole naming who isn't Nancy part of the show and I do think it's just the BBC trying to stir up trouble and what they think makes better tv. Personally I'd much rather believe that they all got along, obviously when you're thrust together witha group of strangers like they have been, you are going to get along with some people better than others and we have definitely seen that, but that doesn't mean they dislike everyone else, they just aren't as close.

Although I have wondered about the relationship between Sam and Rachel, I would still like to think that they do get along ok, but just have to pick someone, the fact that they always pick each other probably makes it easier when they are asked again. That way neither needs to feel bad or upset about it.

Personally though I would just refuse to answer the question, I'm very aware now that these programmes are all edited to make things look different to how they are and personally I wouldn't say anything that could be made to look bitchy or mean when it perhaps wasn't intended like that. I think they should all just refuse to answer it. I would have been interested to see how Sarah handled it, maybe she would have played along like everyone else but it didn't seem in her nature to name someone like that.

Well you can never tell for sure, but from their body language I don't think they get on at all. When they've had to sit next to each other a couple of times for the Oliver performances and the like, all the signs of being really unhappy with the others presence. And when either have been put through by the public or saved by ALW, they never seem to interact. Very frosty there I reckon.

“NASTY NANCIES IN BEHIND SCENES BATTLE

NANCY wannabes Samantha Barks and Rachel Tucker are at one another’s throats as the BBC competition hots up.

The hit talent show rivals are locked in a bitter behind-the-scenes battle.

Rachel, 26, thinks wardrobe staff give Sam preferential treatment by letting her have shorter and sexier skirts – meaning she’s likely to win more public votes.

She stormed: “My aunts say: ‘Why is Sam in wee skimpy dresses and you’re not?’ I think the public are swayed by things like that.”

And there is no love lost on 17-year-old Sam’s side either. She urged viewers not to vote for Rachel to be Nancy in the West End’s new Oliver, claiming she is not right for the part.

On Sunday’s results show, the frosty air between the feuding pair showed even more. When Rachel was saved from the chop by Andrew Lloyd Webber, 61, all the girls hugged her, with the exception of Sam.

An insider said: “It’s getting more catty by the minute. The girls are saying just what they think of each other.”

I’d Do Anything is on BBC1 at 6.50pm on Saturday and 7.15pm on Sunday.”

make what you will from this

im a huge Sam fan but i dont think Sam coming out in 'skimpy dresses' etc is going to her advantage, if anything female votes are less likely to vote

Have to say that I think that the dislike is both mutual and obvious however i think its probably as much due to the fact that they are all together for most of the week with very little breathing space and an huge amount of pressure-- not everyone likes everyone and in a competition when your dream is on the line any perceived advantage is going to grate even more.

Also the rather blatent favouring of some of them must be as obvious in their house as it is to us on the outside

Who knows how much that is aggravating them?

Yes but the thing is its not just the Daily Star thinking this is it-- lots of people on here noticed (fans or non-fans alike) and several people who I have spoken to also noticed it.

I think alliances and dislkies just become more obvious as the competitors get fewer because you can see whos hugging/ whos crying and who/s pulling faces a lot lot easier!

I think it's obvious enough that they don't really get along, but it isn't as if that article has uncovered any serious dirt. The writer seems commited to making mountains out of molehills. There really isn't much to go on here.

I don't think Rachel has any grounds to object to favouritism being shown to Sam. She's been well favoured herself. Up until two weeks ago, the panel hadn't given her a single word of criticism, and her performances weren't exactly perfect. Now if Ashley had said it, or Fran or someone, they might have had a point.

They can't all be expected to get along. I gather the atmosphere in the Joseph house the week before the final was pretty noxious. But they were under a lot of pressure.

Hmm i agree in the sense that the article doesnt say what we havent seen ourselves, so they dont actually know any more than we do....

I think that its highly likely that if you put a group of girls in such a close knit environment, in competition with each other then spats are bound to happen.
I think that they probably have very similar personalities so they clash.
