I'm looking for a box which lets me record from my standard Sky box.
I have a toshiba TV with integrated freeview, so I think that means I'd be able to watch freeview while I record a different Sky channel (although I'll have to get my terrestrial aerial checked out and probably recabled).
In an ideal world, I'd like to stick with Toshiba, although I have no idea if they make a unit which would do what I need.
I have my DVD collection on external hard drives working through my PC so in the long run, any video I store on my new DVDR/HDD box will need the ability to transfer to those external drives. Perhaps by recording to DVD-RW and then ripping on my PC, but if there's any easier way I'm all ears!?!
In an ideal world, I could simply hook up an external hard drive - I've heard that one of the new panasonics has the ability to connect a usb flash drive / USB key (?) Anyone know if that would work, or if the "saved" files are in a format readable by Windows Media Center on my PC?
I heard that the Panasonic EX75 might do what I want, does anyone have any other recommendations?
