How do you set the picture on a Panny , or
sharp, to automatically adjust the picture to show Widescreen, i.e when its a W/S transmission, and 4.3 when its a 4.3 transmission? on both sets, if you set it on "Auto", it just spreads a 4.3 picture, if you set it on 4.3, it shows a W/s picture in 4.3, is there no way it can do this. You can set the V-Box to do this, but not freeview.

On a Panny just set it to 4:3 and it will then autoswitch, the Sharp may well be the same but I don't have one of those. Make sure when you set it to 4:3 that you're watching a 4:3 channel otherwise it'll be 4:3 on 16:9 channels until you go to a 4:3 channel and then it'll start switching properly.

The Freeview box should be set to 16:9 (not 16:9 letterbox), make sure any scart controls are activated (if the feature exists on your box).
