Does anyone else think that this show has spoiled Jessie by knocking her this way and that with "direction" and comments (I'll bite my tongue re- "criticism") then complaining that she's inconsistent?

They'd have done better to leave her as she was.

As it stands, her best performance had been Larry Grayson's signature tune...

they have told her to change so many things, i think shes getting a little confuzzled

I agree that she doesn't seem to know which way to turn now - i don't think this show has helped her at all. She was a confident and competent girl when the show started, now she seems unsure and a bit all over the place.

I must admit that i don't know what they want from her anymore, they have given her such conflicting comments - i am not suprised the poor girl doesn't know which way to turn .

I dont know whether i would agree that the show has ruined her - hopefully she has gained a lot also.

As for her comments about movement - i think she is bound to be more nervous about every move she makes now - making her less confident over all! Making it harder and harder to move more freely as always thinking hard about what she doing instead of relaxing. Very difficult! I dont think she a great mover but can understand her difficulties and same being caused by constant digs!

Oh please, criticism is in the job description. She has to take direction, and usually it will be coming from a lot of different sources (vocal, acting, movement, bastards writing the reviews) so she'll have to learn how to sort it all out, not play the victim all "oh poor me I'm coffuzled :<". And if she is that confused she can bloody well take it up with the people who are confusing her and ask them to clarify.

I think she's been treated very, very well so far in this competition. I don't think it's "ruining her" - it's a learning curve; I get the feeling she went into this competition having been told her whole life how talented and precocious she is, and she isn't used to people telling her her performance wasn't good enough - she's in a whole new league now and I don't think it's dawned on her just how good she's going to have to be. If you want to talk about criticism "confusing" and "ruining" someone, check back over some of the unconstructive, conflicting or downright untrue comments Ashley had thrown at her.

Although the critique of her (and other's) has been bizarre to say the least: 'you need to change everything about you, no actually just be yourself' I wouldn't say it's ruined her. The fact is before the show she had been rejected from two drama schools, now she has a lot of exposure and far more opportunities than she would have previously.

I think Jessie was terribly "spoiled" long before she came on this show. Hopefully by the end of it she'll have learned a little humility.

true. although, her confidence was probably knocked when being turned down by drama schools, this was a real boost for her and now she is probably questioning every move she makes.

She`s been refused entry to a couple of Drama Schools so has had knock backs before.

I have to say I agree with that.

However I do find the builidng up and knocking down of people rather uncomfortable to watch

you think she has been spoiled with things? well, she is a sight less spoiled than any Paris Hilton or Tara Palmer Tomkinson I have seen. is this because of the expensive bronzer she uses? i never saw her as spoiled by possessions and in personality, i must have missed something. you don't know from spoiled if you have not seen some of the teens from billionare families whose kids get 3 million dollar birthday parties.

In comparison to Niamh and Sam who are a similar age to her it seems she cannot take criticism well and comes across as overly full of herself and quite arrogant and a little self obsessed at times

I would never say she is spoiled in a material sense as I know nothing of her background or financial circumstances.

I feel however that she may have been rather feted and overpraised by her parents which is a shame as she is very talented but a more balanced view of her own abilities would have served her better. So it is in this sense I think she may have been spoiled

I don't like the way the show has treated her though. They shouldn't do that to anyone let alone teenagers who are least able to cope with it

However, as others have mentioned, she has been knocked back by drama schools, so I don't think this is true.

I have no idea where this 'spoiled' 'hasn't been criticised' tag has come from. She's the contestant who has come straight from being turned down by two drama schools, for goodness sake.

In terms of material possessions, she seems to come from a pretty average middle class Irish family to me. Her background appears to be very similar to Niamh's for instance. Ireland is doing very well for itself at the moment and I'm sure Jessie and her family are very comfortable, but it's not exactly designer clothes, high life parties and getting Robbie Williams to sing at your birthday party.

And as for her reactions to the panel, I have to admit I totally understand where she's coming from. I have an idea that my doctoral supervisor thinks that I don't take criticism well. It's not that I'm arrogant, or spoiled, I just care about his opinion an awful lot and I'm not very good at masking my feelings, everything shows on my face. If he isn't happy with my work, I'm devastated. I'd imagine something similar is going on with Jessie.

I'm completely mystified by some of these comments about Jessie! I've always found her really natural and unspoilt!

I think she's finding it very hard going, but I doubt she'd rather not be there and what ever happens I think she'll look back on the experience as being fantastic

I totally agree. She comes across as so down to earth and normal - I think that's why I've warmed to her.

Alright, I'll take back what I said about Jessie not being used to knock-backs, but my other points remain: she has to approach this with less emotion and more intelligence. The looks on her face when someone gives her an even vaguely negative comment are "I'm crushed" expressions, followed by desperate attempts to justify herself.

She has to learn that "That was a bad performance" does not equal "You are a bad performer". Instead of getting offended and argumentative, she should just smile, nod and say, "I'll take that on board" - then keep it in mind for next week's performance.

She does seem extremely naturally talented. Remember when we saw them all having a private tuition with ALW, and Jessie was the only one who he could not give any advice to - he said she'd got it perfect. She does seem to have gone down hill recently, like she's trying to please too many people at once. I think this week is her make or break. If she gets the right song and pulls it off she'll be in with a great chance of winning, if it's another dicey performance she'll be in the sing off with rachel.

ALW has always said his shows are about nurturing talent and not destroying and in the main i think that is true.

Jessie does have a very raw talent but that is not enough to make it in the West End today. Her movemnts are gauche and her acting terrible. So what are the panel supposed to do - not say a word and let her believe she is fantastic in all areas. i don't think in the long run that is doing her any favours. Jessie needs to learn that the profession she has chosen is the one where you have to have a very thick skin.

She also needs to learn to take on board criticism and improve on it - sadly i don't think she has and to me she hasn't got worse but just not improved. Her Judy Garland song was the performance of the series but sadly that makes me think she is a one trick pony. She can stand still and do a fabulous performance but she still needs lots of work in movement and acting.

I had Jessie as my one to watch at the very early shows but sadly she hasn't developed any further

I agree, but I also think they did build her up too much in the early shows and she must have been on cloud nine the Judy Garland week and now she is so confused about how get back up there again.

I love Jessie, but she's just too young and raw at the moment IMHO (feel like I'm kicking a puppy ).
