530 aspect ratio using optimise
Strange thing happened last night.
I was putting 4 x 50 minute episodes onto dvd-rw using optimise in real time (approx 3hr 14 min) and expected the disc to have lost its WSS. But I got a surprise when it actually made it non-anamorphic for all 4 episodes. Using IFOEDIT I saw that they were 4:3 as usual but played back on 4:3 tv with black bands making it view as normal. I was expecting tall thin people and have to set to 16:9 but when I did that it squashed the signal making it look like 2.30:1 instead! Anyone ever seen this before? Hope I explained it properly. Maybe its to do with using optimise which I never used before. |

I found out that if you set tv playback settings to 4:3 letterbox then any output to dvd will lose its WSS and be written as non-anamorphic 4:3.
