No I'm talking about the Wales v Scotland six nations match. Had the cricket still been in progress on Sports Extra the Wales v Scotland match was down to be on "Radio 4 LW Digital" according to Radio Times.

Disappointed to hear that there was no Six Nations review on talkSPORT like they've done in the past with Rhodri Williams and Dick Best.

I can now understand why its referred to as talkFOOTBALL.

Guinness are no longer sponsoring talkSPORT's rugby coverage and, in the past couple of years, they've had a weekly Rugby Show hosted by Rhodri Williams (2007 it was a Monday and in 2008 it was a Thursday 9:00pm-10:00pm) during the Six Nations.

That was in addition to the Sunday night Rugby Show which ran from November 2007 to May 2008 between 8:00pm-10:00pm hosted by Rhodri Williams and Will Carling.

Greene King are sponsoring the rugby coverage now which includes features during other shows - Hawksbee & Jacobs on Friday, Andy Goldstein's Sports Bar on Saturday which has Jeff Probyn previewing and reviewing the weeekend's action whether Six Nations, Guinness Premiership or Heineken Cup.

They do have live reports and updates from each of the internationals (autumn, Six Nations etc) and a featured club match on a Sunday afternoon (Premiership or Heineken Cup) which is Russell Hargreaves or Simon Ward as reporter.

Ah, I hardly listen to the station (If at all) so I wouldn't have known. Still, It's a bit disappointing not to have its own show.

A West Yorkshire derby means that Radio Leeds can provide a full match commentary on Leeds United's match, away to Huddersfield Town.

Paul Ogden and Adam Pope are sharing commentary duties 5 Live style, with Kieran O'Regan summarising.

Are they barred from doing regular away games then?

They can't even do the home games! In a nutshell Ken Bates increased the amount of money he wanted for the rights to something ridiculous, more than the BBC could pay. The rights went to Yorkshire Radio which is on DAB/Sky. And is owned by a certain Ken Bates. And has its studios at Elland Road.

They're doing this match via their rights to Huddersfield's matches. In the past they would have split frequencies and had Adam Pope on FM doing a Leeds biassed commentary and Paul Ogden on AM doing a commentary with a Huddersfield bias.

It's Chris Cooper's first appearance in quite a while on talkSPORT. I don't think he's been heard as a reporter on the station since late 2006/early 2007 when he left the station and joined Century in the North West. I doubt it's a regular thing as he's Sunderland commentator on Century in the North East, but who knows?
