CD Burner - Can your computer record CD's as well as play them? Easiest way to check is to right click on the CD drive under "My Computer". The drive should be described as CD-RW. If not you can pick drives up fairly cheaply.
Music Format - You say you have the music on your computer and want to play it in your car. What format are the tracks in? If they are mp3 then does your car CD player play mp3 CD's? If so then no problem - if not then you will have to convert the mp3's to wav files before burning. There are loads of free converters. This one is pretty simple.
Others have covered DRM and the burning process (this is a link to a basic Windows guide) so good luck. We all had to start somewhere.”
a) Your CD drive might also be described as a 'CD-R drive', 'CD-drive', 'DVD-RW' drive or a combination of these when you right click on its icon in 'my computer'.
b) Put a blank CD-R (they sell them in WHSmith) into this drive (on the front of your computer tower). Don't use a CR-RW as it might not work in your car.
c) You shouldn't need to do any converting. Just go to 'windows media player', click on 'burn', choose 'audio CD' and then drag the music files you want to put on the CD to the little menu that appears (in the order you want them to play back). Click on 'burn now', wait for it to finish, take it out and put it in your car. Voila!
