Hi

I want to set up a wireless sky tv link from the sky plus box to another TV.

Any ideas on what i should buy?

I want wireless, but is this the best option?

If it does need to be by wires, i do have a wire from the dish to my room as i have 4 inputs due to having Sky Plus.

Thanks

You either fit a video sender (wirelessly) or run a coax cable from the RF2 out on the Sky+ to the remote TV...it has nothing to do with the dish/downlead.

A good wireless video sender will also include a remote control extender, so you can change channels on the STB from the other room. But picture quality will most likely be composite, and won't be as good as RGB or even S-Video.

2 off these

cable as well and dont scrimp on the cable neither for picture quality and decide if cable is for out or in

if you get outdoor cable and take your time to not kink it you can use it inside

Thanks

RF Out on the Sky Box, Standard Coax Aeriel Plugs are available any place including B & Q! but the metal ones are better as suggested.

From Memory (at work at the moment) I think the RF out sockets are "Male" sockets, if so you will need the Female coax plug to connect to it & a Male one at the TV end.

It should be connected to RF2 (the second RF output) as this is the one that can carry the 9volt signal when RF control is set on in the services menu.

I dont think that you get full magic eye control if you use RF out (1).

Is it plugged in to the RF2?
Did you "Save new Settings"?
Plug it in directly to the RF2 on the back of the box without the coax extension and tell us if the led on the TV link is lit?

TV LINK red light, lights up when connected straight to the Sky Plus box to the RF2 port.

The cable i am using is brand new, its a satellite coax cable.I was having problems putting the female connector to the cable to connect to the RF2 port. I could be putting this on wrong as the copper wire will not go all the way up the female connector?

Standard coax cable is fine for most indoor extensions and fits the coax connectors better.
The fault can only be in the fitting of the connectors...just make sure the inner solid core doesn't touch the outside braid.

Right, i got it to work perfect and then just went to position the wires and now all i get it the picture and sound and the remote control will not operate. The red light on the TV link is not on anymore too. I have it inserted into the RF2 port.

I reset box and even reconnected the female connector and all seems fine now.

The female connector is playing up so must be that, i did exchange it for a new one again so might do it again?

Do you think it is that?
