My Last Conspiracy Theory
OK - it's just a thought, but play along with me for a while.
Cameron comes out of the BB house as the winner and yet at the time he should be doing the whole media thing he jets off to Chicago. That means he misses out on a lot of appearances while people would still be remotely interested in him. Seems strange, doesn't it? Now I don't for one minute buy into any idea that he's shunning the media limelight. No, this is a boy who's played a very careful game, ably assisted by a media-savvy family. Keep reading - I'm going somewhere with this. Shammy gives crap interviews. He's inarticulate and relies far too heavily on facial gestures and that doesn't make for a good telly presenter even on the God Slot. Now I can't remember the exact figure, but I have read that Endemol cream off a percentage of a winner's earnings for the first couple of years after they leave the house. A lot of time, effort and money was invested in Shammy and they'll want to recoup that. Sooooooo, would it make sense to shove him off to the States and while he's out of sight of the tabloids, get him a few lessons with some sort of coach? Not an acting one, but I'm sure there's people over there who make a living out of grooming people to deal with the press and TV - making a silk purse out of the proverbial sow's ear. |

I consider Brian an exception...he is excellent tv and deserves any breaks he gets. Last edited by Sorca : 04-08-2003 at 10:12. |

So maybe it would have made more sense for them to give said training to him before BB began?Shammy gives crap interviews. True, but then again, you could argue that the people that liked and voted for Cameron liked all those quirks and mad facial expressions, and thats why they voted for him (I dont know why they did *shrug*). So turning him into a TV presenter clone might risk turning the people who liked him, off him. Now I can't remember the exact figure, but I have read that Endemol cream off a percentage of a winner's earnings for the first couple of years after they leave the house. A lot of time, effort and money was invested in Shammy and they'll want to recoup that. Are you sure this wasn't some dodgy madeup tabloid story? Sounds abit dubious to me, I mean how would they police that? Endemol : Cam, we know you opened that Qwiksave in stains, give us our cut! Cam : Occchhhh Nooooo! ;P Sooooooo, would it make sense to shove him off to the States and while he's out of sight of the tabloids, get him a few lessons with some sort of coach? Not an acting one, but I'm sure there's people over there who make a living out of grooming people to deal with the press and TV - making a silk purse out of the proverbial sow's ear. I think it was mainly just to try and make an interesting and different show from last years, on a relatively cheap budget, the most expensive thing must have been the 3 1st class flights. One cameraman, and a 2k professional camcorder were maybe the only other things required. |

the only reason you don't buy this is because you have this notion that he's *a boy who's played a very careful game, ably assisted by a media-savvy family*.the conclusion you should be drawing from all this is, in fact, that you may have been wrong about that. just maybe? Quote:

Either that or they were waiting for him to have this latest trip to prologue his moment in the spotlight.

Whoever drew the short straw at Heat magazine resorted to quoting his answers and describing the faces he pulled in ellipes at the end of each comment. |

I don't mean to be so snappish, but it just gets sooooooo ridiculous that every little thing gets the whole *oh, thats strange - there must be something going on.....* treatment.I would take your points more seriously if you'd stop being so overbearing, but then again I've seen you snipe at everyone else so why should I be any exception. your post was a great example, in that the only reason it seemed *strange* was because it didn't fit in with previous assumptions of *strangeness*. You gotta keep a sense of humour about the whole thing - after all the entire series was a joke this year and a right clown won it. |
