on Sometimes Some Old Video taps reced over the Pictcher but leve the Sond on Why?
on Some Lowergred a grade taps and old Video taps recode new pictor and Leve old sound on why dose this heppon ?

Several reasons, maybe the tapes are creased along the edge where the mono sound track is - so the creased tape doesn't make proper contact with the audio erase head and get erased...
The audio control head may be worn as mentioned in the above post, The pinchroller is worn out and this makes the tape run through the mechanism incorrectly which could cause audio problems. A worn pinchroller also would likely damage the tapes (causing creasing as above) It might be worth trying a cleaning tape, or if it's ok on new tapes, just stick to new tapes! |

This fault could be due to the full erase head not working.The video is recorded over though,as happens with VCRs that dont have flying erase heads on the head drum but can perform video insert edits.
