Does Michael Make Good Telly..??

I've heard a lot of talk of Sir Alan saving Michael on the grounds that he's entertaining.

Personally I find the boy repulsive and irritating and a total turn-off.

I'm not overly bothered about the upcoming episodes of The Apprentice because the true entertainer has been given his marching orders.

If Sir Alan wanted to ensure high ratings. he should have spared Raef.

Not for me he doesn't. To be a good apprentice villain you have to have charisma. Michael has none.

He should go forth and multiply in short jerky movements.

I have to put these things politley, I know how strict the mods are!!

Previous villains such as Katie, Syed and Paul (series one) were compelling to watch.

Michael is not in the same league. He makes me want to reach for the OFF button.

He makes me want to vomit.

He has made me laugh in previous weeks but I've had enough of him now. Mind you, I didn't think Raef was all that either so I'm not as upset as some people are today.

He is no worse than Lucinda, Claire and Helene, they have all had their obstructive moments

Can't stand Michael, and for me, he makes for irritating telly. I actually find the lary and purposely irritating people on any reality show completely annoying, as they would if I were to be around them in everyday life.

Neither am I bothered about Rafe going.

Much as I don't like two of those three, they have at least done SOMETHING right along the way...Michael has done nothing.

I don't know for sure who makes the decisions, whether it's SAS who decides who gets fired (I'm not really cynical so I would be more inclined to believe what SAS said on Jonathan Ross, that he calls the shots) or if it's really the producers, but whoever is making these decisions has made the mistake of thinking that keeping tossers like Michael in is entertaining; it's even more entertaining to see shits like Michael getting their comeuppance and getting fired.

They made the same mistake with Jenny C - she should've gone on week 2. She was not entertaining or interesting to watch, she was awful. It was entertaining to see her (eventually) get fired though.

Michael is not "good TV"... television producers have this idea that what we really want to see is people we hate. This is not true. I don't want to watch people I dislike.

And it will be even more entertaining when we see Michael go.

About as entertaining as the plague.

No, he doesn't make good telly.

Usually when there's someone you hate on a show they have at least one quality that makes you admire them a little bit, e.g. you may have hated Syed in series 2 but he did have flashes of brilliance or last year Katie could be funny at times.

Michael's just useless. He doesn't make me laugh, he hasn't done anything of any worth in any of the tasks and his voice is enough to make an insomniac fall unconscious.

I don't care if he gets fired, quits or just falls down the back of the settee. I just want him gone.

No, hes too revolting person to be entertaining. Idiotic, ignorant, loathsome, irritating, no talent. Should have been fired instead of Raef (should actually have gone instead of Jennifer in Week 7)

Can you actually think of something Helene has done right? I must have missed that.

Does Michael Make Good Telly..??

For all that everyone is saying, and I don't personally disagree to the extent that I too dislike Michael and would love to see him go, the facts don't speak for his presence being a turn-off. The ratings are higher than ever. The "I hate Michael" thread is one of the longest. We watch and we talk more about him than anyone else.

So, in short, yes.

There seems to be this concept of "good telly" that exists in the minds of the people who produce "telly".

That is, that certain types, behaviours and topics will appeal to the masses and keep them watching -- "good revenue", as opposed to a good use of a medium with tremendous potential, largely untapped.

There is precious little "good telly" around these days.

To be fair she did say 2 out of the 3 ... meaning Lucinda & Claire

Helene does nothing but stand around with that miserable bovine face but Michael has no redeeming features. He's as shallow as Alex but at least Alex is pleasant to look at (if you like that sort of thing)
