I've read many posts moaning about Cameron, Steph Ray, Jon, whoever bitching while in the BB House...

I would like to open the forum to people who have never bitched about their friends, family or colleagues.

My guess is that this will be a short thread.

Just to repost my comments to another forum member on another thread, your reasoning is completely flawed.

The whole point of BB is that we are presented with a disparate group of individuals who are left to sink or swim by virtue of their own personalities in an environment where even the most trivial emotional responses are heightened and amplified. The audience visits this human zoo and we are drawn into intimate proximity with these people but still allowed to retain our privileged position as spectators.

BB basically is pretty reprehensible television when you really think about it. It appeals to our base, judgmental instincts and gives us an illusionary sense of power by being able to decide which contestants stayed in the house and which were evicted. To achieve this, BB actually *legitimises* dislike of certain housemates, hence the present negative voting system.

To imply that forum members are being self-righteous when they criticise Cameron, Ray, Steph etc. is completely missing the point of what BB is all about. Any flaws we forum members display in their daily lives are irrelevant. The fact is that we didn't choose to put ourselves in the public eye. But the BB contestants *did*.

So true.....
As far as I can recall, when Jon had a problem with the girls snacking he took it to Nush( as he regarded her as leader of the girls) and although he may have had a few grumbles on that he had the grace to bring it into the open, likewise his problem with Ray teasing the girls, and Cameron not expressing opinions.. in every case he aired the problem instead of keeping it bottled up

I'd ague that a little bit, in that by posting here then you are putting yourself in the public eye. so any comments you make about the hm's can be and should be argued by other fm's(within ds rules of course) who disagree.

I think it depends on the 'bitching' really. if its constructive critisism, even harsh constructive critisism, then I see no propbem, but abuse or spitefull comments aimed at the HM's imo, are just as bad as any 'bad' behaviour the hm's might make.

A flawed argument, I think. This is a discussion forum.

The fact is that the housemates are there to be judged. That's what the format of BB is all about.

I have bitched with a friend or two or my sister, but never in a situation like they did where they picked someone out and then victimised them until they left the house. I noticed the 5 boys do it to Jon the most, though the girls did join in. But they were all guilty of doing it to Lisa. I don't care how irritating she may have been, it was dispicable and I can't believe you're trying to justify it. Can you imagine the level of lonliness she must have felt with no one to turn to, I'm suprised she didn't walk because I would have. They treated her as if she had no feelings whatso ever. No offence but if you've ever victimised anyone in that manner or think its ok then you seriously need to look at your character.

Totally agree with this post. Not one of them came out looking good with the Lisa situation. I have also said in previous postings that the reason it wasn't so noticable with Jon is because the more he irritated them the funnier "we" thought it was.

"Not being funny but I think this lot were a nasty bunch of back stabbers, but there again I could be wrong"

yes but we still judge each other. If someone makes a controversial comment here then others who disagree are going to comment, that is the point of discussion isnt it?.

You're going around in circles. Exchanging opinions on a forum intended specifically for discussion is an *entirely* different proposition to people voluntarily appearing on a voyeuristic TV programme and all that goes with it

BB is all about judgement. That's why people pick up the phone.
