Just because some do not speak with a plum in their mouths or were not born with silver spoons in their hands does not mean they are unintelligent and have no talent.

I agree raef was a nice guy but would not deem him of higher intelligence than some of the others. I think Lee is bright behind all that rough exterior. Alex plays a very clever game.

Yeah, you have to be careful not to judge to much in that way.

I think the amount of coverage Raef has gotten in more of an indication of his general popularity than his intellect.

He deserves it though, he has made this series. Without Raef it would have been even grimmer viewing than it has been...

lol what an odd thing to say! Do we have to qualify everything now that we put down here with 'but I'm better'? lol ... anyway take it that it was in jest

Anyway I agree with the post... Raef is in a different league to Alex, who isnt up to much of anything, and certainly not a class leader!

I agree I loved Raef, I just didn't like seeing others put down because of their roots.

I think Raef will go far in life because he is genuine and a totally nice person

Yep, me too...I grew up on a council estate and because I passed my 11 plus and went to grammar school, I felt so judged by some of my peers...it's not nice...

Anyway, Raef has the kind of personality and attitude that people find endearing....he has a bright future one way or another...

Raef was interviewed in The Guardian too.

The essence of the article was about how he was deeply misunderstood as a candidate and was just a proud person. He described how he "didn't have ulterior motives for joining The Apprentice", he genuinely wanted to work for Sir Alan.

He also mentioned that he found Nick's remarks about him very unfair.

Did anyone detect a hint of jealousy in SurAlan's description of Raef as 'Mr Elegance'? SAS, who will look like an elderly Brillo pad stuck on to a suit whichever expensive tailors he patronises might have felt a tad miffed by Raef's innate style.

I really did feel that SAS's comments were really nasty--is Raef as more full of hot air than any of the other candidates? I felt Raef deserved another chance--slimy Michael has had nearly as many lives as a cat--and that SAS didn't like him simply because he was a bit too cultured, a bit too artistic, a bit too refined for SAS's taste. SAS strikes me forcibly of being an uncouth man with lotsamoney, but zero polish, who prefers people of his own ilk.

If there were any justice Michael would have gone--but, of course, justice doesn't come into it.

When I watched it back, that was the thing that upset me the most...what did Raef ever do to be spoken to so sneeringly by SAS? He was treated with more disdain than almost anyone else this series, even some of the nastiest characters have been shown more respect when they were fired. I just couldn't understand why SAS felt the need to be so vicious about Raef when he has been such a lovely guy throughout the show...

So even putting aside the flawed argument SAS had for firing him, I found his manner of doing so disgraceful.

Personally, I would hav been offended, and said so, when Alan said to Raef 'I think you've been lucky you've only been here (boardroom) once' I suppose Michael has just been unlucky then??? AS=pathetic

Well exactly....but Raef is a gentlemen, he took it on the chin, and has refused to critise SAS at all.

SAS also said Raef thought he was ' Mr Elegant and Mr Perfect' , which was a very snide remark that indicates to me that SAS never once tried to look below the surface with Raef. What an ass!

Not all that glitters is gold

I agree SAS never looked under the packaging to see what was inside and its his loss really. But I am sure he won't worry about it, lol

These remarks are very personal and have absolutely no place in a corporate environment. If any boss in real life were to aim such remarks at an employee (or trainee) the recipient would have ample cause to haul his employers and the boss to an industrial tribunal.

Raef seemed like a really nice guy. I remember him sticking up for Sara when everyone else was bullying her.

I agree with you kinda, if anything Raef has actually benefitted from being fired in the way he has.

1) Alan has lost one of, if not the, best candidates on the show.

2) Raef's real skill and acumen has shown throughout the series and anywhere he goes now for an interview, the employer will know his abilities.

3) Raef has been saved from working for that arrogant ****.

Ever since the whole 'good jewish boy' thing, I cant help but think Alan is protecting Michael and making sure he makes the final purely for the fact that they have the same faith.

It's because he's good-looking & posh & seemed like decent guy. He's not, however, particularly bright.

He'd like the Darius Ganesh of the Apprentice.

I would. I can't imagine how untalented the ones who didn't get through must have been.
