Why did they spend $1 million on the make-up for the female ape on Planet of the Apes when they could've simply dyed Gail's mop hair black and used her.

I think Gail is lovely. I`m glad she didn`t go down the route of plastic surgery like other actresses have done. Gail might not have the good looks that she used to have, but show me a woman of Helen Worths age that looks like a movie star who hasn`t had plastic surgery. Not very many!!
A good part of the reason why Gail doesn`t look movie star-ish is because of make up and the wardrobe department in Corrie. And also Gail doesn`t have a lot to smile about lately with her family troubles. On the rare ocassions that she does smile....it looks like the sun has come out and it really transforms her face.
'Audreh' looks smashing for her age too

Gail was never always a dull moaning character. When she owned the Cafe with Alma she used to have many more comical scenes.
