Picture Settings - Samsung LCD

Hi Guys

Got a new Samsung 37" LCD TV. (model No. LE37A457C1DXXU). Nice set. Only problem appears to be the picture settings. The factory setting is on "Dynamic" with high backlight and contrast settings. This is a bit overpowering and I prefer the "standard" setting or to customise it.

The problem is that after doing this and then turning the TV off when I turn it back on it has defaulted back to the factory setting

Not a big problem but a bit of a nuisance and I assume that it isn't meant to do this ?

NB - The sound settings remain on my preferences

You have got the TV in what is known as Shop Mode, when you set it up initially you have the option of either Home or Shop, if you don't select Home it goes into Shop mode (This is for the Stores with Bright Lighting & people who keep changing the settings) There is a reset that can be done but I cant remember what it is, try google re Samsung Shop Mode.

Update; Press & Hold the "Menu" Button on the TV (Not Remote) & select the Home/Normal Mode.

Dynamic is not a setting which gives pleasing results, select Normal & Try your backlight at 5-6, Contrast at about 58-60, brightness around 50, Colour about 50, Sharpness 25-30 & then tweak to your individual liking.

You will need to do this for each input individualy, i.e. Digital TV, Analogue TV, Sky, DVD, Blu ray etc.

Thanks for the info - seems to be the problem as it returns to dynamic after about half an hour with TV on.

Tried holding "menu" but no home or normal option seems to be available
