I have just bought a Samsung LE40A656 and am very pleased with it, however when I power it on it does not reselect the last channel I was watching - it starts on QVC (channel 16)
Any thoughts please?

Not 100% sure about this model but have you got QVC programmed in on your Favourite channels?

Hi,

I have the same problem - QVC how embarrassing!

This is my second A656, as the first had no threads in the wall mounting holes.

I have since found out that teletext doesn't work either. This seems to be due to the set losing some of its digital settings. It reverts back to Austria as the country after it is turned off, and teletext becomes unavailable.

If you re-select United Kingdom, re-tune all the channels, and try teletext - it works. And the country says UK. Turn off the set, and back on again, it shows QVC, country says Austria, teletext doesn't work.

Contacted Samsung with just the QVC problem, as I only noticed the teletext this morning, and they told me to return the set.

Number three coming up!

JAV.

How good is Samsung with after sales support, does it include at home support? collection of faulty units etc
I'm thinking about getting this telly, but not too sure about samsung's support

Yes, they arrange for a samsung service agent to collect the set for repair.

I'm glad I've decided against the 6 series.

Freeview channel changing is way too slow on the Samsungs.

Just in case anyone else has the problem - the code that Sky customer service gives is 0646.

I don't know if it makes a difference- but they had me put in the code 999 first (using the usual Sky remote programming method only without hitting the select key after entering the 999 code) Then they had me press the red button and select together WHILE COVERING THE SENSOR in order to add in the 0646 code. I don't know if that makes a difference or not - but it is a different instruction from the interactive service menu.

Just tried it, and it works perfectly. I can now turn my LE40A656 on and off with my Sky remote.
