hi

i have a samsung a300 phone on o2's online 50 tarrif.

whenever i send a text to someone they cannot reply to me directly from the message, they have to type a new message and send it using my phone number from their phone book.

i have the service centre number : +447802000332

i have reply path set to "on".

anyone else having this problem, or know how to solve it (please don't say "change to orange/tmobile/vodafone etc.. !!)

p.s. just emailed o2 to ask their advice and their email reply told me to expect an anwer within 7 DAYS !!!! seems a little long bearing in mind that the tarrif i'm on is "online" only !!

This happened to me once before. I couldn't reply to someones txt directly, i had to write the message and then put the number in manually/from phonebook.

Its not that the message is anonymous, the details of the sender are still there, its just that when u send the reply it comes back with message failed.....unless u put the number in manually.

I agree with fodavoneboy, try it 'No' or 'Off' this should sort your problem out

When I had an o2 Nokia 3410 I has the same problem but mine wasn't to do with the return path. In my case it was o2's fault they were sending my messages but were not sending me the messages that people were sending to me when they finally realsised they did this I had 16 messages come through at once!

The reply setting is for reply via same message centre.
If the person your texting doesn't use the bt txt centre cos there on a different network or contract then it wont get sent as you can normally only send messages out through one message centre.

I'm having a problem with my texts too. Both me and my friend are on O2, but when I send him a text, it doesn't arrive until an hour or so later, sometimes even longer! What could be wrong? My texts work fine to other people, they get the straight away.

I had this problem with Orange i rang them and they told me to take my sim card out of the phone and when i turn it back goto the settinggs and do a network search and it worked! Hope this helps you. Also i'd reccomend you turn the reply through same centre off.
