reading a lot of the posts on this, i cant help but be really fed up with the x is crap, y is crap, x has no personality, y is up them selves, x is too fat, y is too thin,

plus when someone has opinions differning from others, it seems that other posters are slamming or against fans of other girls, it seems to be the jodie fans vs the sam fans vs the rachel fans vs the jessie fans

cant we just drop it, yes we all have our favorites for whatever reason, but why all the negativity!

sorry for the rant, but reading the posts on here since day one this seems to have got 100x worse the last couple of weeks

I dont take it personally......its opinion and we are all entitled to that.........I like debate and discussion and you only get that if you have difference....the personal stuff could go by the way side........but thats not going to happen...

exactly, and i would hate to think that any of the girls or their friends of family would read some of what has been posted on here.

at the end of the day its a tv show and a musical, if the person you dont want to see in the show wins, then simple dont see the stage show! that is what my intention is

Yes, I think it's a shame when the comments become personal.

I think it's fine that everyone has different views about who would be a good Nancy. I don't necessarily agree with ALW or CM's view in that respect. However comments about the girls' characters etc are uncalled for since we know very little about them. In any case, you can be a great actor/singer without being a wonderful human being and so their personalities are irrelevant.

I'm shocked by the number of negative threads on here today.

I can't imagine what it'll be like after the results

I don't mind it when people express their opinions on which Nancys they do and don't like. But I hate it when comments become personal. There is a lot of negativity on here at the moment.

Nah as long as it doesn't get too nasty I'm fine.
What I don't like is disscussing a subject to death.
But the one about Jessie not being Irish was funny.
Nah she's from mexico.

No I find them interesting to be honest. It gets on my nerves when people are sanctimonious about not criticising the girls. As long as its not to viscious and somewhat justified criticism is good.

Opinion is afterall what makes these lists good. If we all thought they were all lovely it would be dead dull on here

Yes as long as criticism is due then it's ok.
I'd hate to be one of the girls and come on here and read this all though, it's all getting pretty bitchy. I know people are sticking up for their faves, but they have all done so well to get where they are and sometimes I think this is forgotten.

Discussion about the negative as well as positive aspects is crucial to understanding and learning about performances. I have learned an awful lot from people in this forum (together with Youtube) pointing out flaws that, being rather naive, musically, I would have previously missed.

I hate the bitchy comments. I see no need for them whatsoever, but I do like discussion and debate. Constructive criticism is healthy.

Similiar posts were on ADWD as well.

dont get me wrong, i think the constructive critism based on their suitablilty for the show is needed - ie discussion on pitch, vocal ability, character they would need to play (however people need to remember that they will not be playing themselves, so personal traits need not apply as long as they can act) plus dont forget that 1 they will receive direction from the director as to how they want them to play the role of nancy 2. that there is 6 months before opening for them to learn the role and 3. the role is not as huge as maria is in the som and joesph in joespeh etc, the show is more of an ensable cast)

however when it crosses the line to personal statements which are downright bitchy and serve no purpose, i dont feel they add anything and i would hate to think that any of the girls or friends/family had read them

afterall we dont know them personnally, so who are we to judge if they are stand offish/ rude/ argumentative/too cold/ too heavy/ too thin/have no charisma/have an ego / too believing in their own hype etc etc

it is also not just against the girls, there seems to be destinive anti x constestant camps on all sides that seem to jump down the throats of other contestants fans for posting something they dont agree with

all the girls have been good in the oliver! songs and so perhaps that it what we should be concentrating on more.

It's pretty tame on here compared to Low culture forum...their forum title is very apt! TBH alot of it's tongue in cheek humour though which is preferable to out and out nastiness. Their Jessie The Pirate threads have me in stiches
Mosltly what goes on here just seems to be passionate debate.

It always gets worse nearer the final. It was the same with the Marias - Siobhan and Connie were constantly accused of being "fake" in true Jade Goody style (I don't recall Helena getting it so much, maybe because everyone assumed she'd lose anyway).

I don't think any of the contestants have been bad. All my negative comments have been about the judges who seem to chop and change their opinions quite dramatically from week to week often reflecting the mood on here. Also the lack of singing in cockney accents.
All the contestants would easilly win the X Factor because the quality of their singing is far superior. I also admire the evicted contestant when they leave and belt out "As Long As He Needs Me." Ashley was superb and Rachel last night, wow!

It always happens on these forums though - one persons favourite is obviously not everybody's choice and you get these comments coming out - I agree that one of the things I like on here is the debate and I find it interesting to see other people's opinions - even when they are vastly different from mine - however I have never understood the really personal comments that are made - I just ignore those.

That's what racks me off the most and there are some true b*tches on DS. I know it won't change, but I wish they make their points without being so insulting.
