just for the record, heres a bit from Macbeth which my English teacher infromed me is his fav bit of Literature (he was a good teacher. The best really). Ive tampered with it for BB reasons .....
Re-enter JON SCOTT: Wherefore was that cry? JON: Nush, my lord, is evicted. Vote Scott Turner ! SCOTT She should have been evicted hereafter; There would have been a time for such a word. To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow, Creeps to this petty pace from day to day, To the last syllable of recorded footage; And all our yesterdays have lighted fools The way to dusty eviction. Out, out, brief candle' Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the house, And then is heard no more; it is a tale Told by a smoggy, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. |

Some would call it fun............
Others would disagree! Strongly! I haven't got up to speed with FA2 yet either?!?! What days is it on ? Has it started or are they still getting people in? Ain't worked out the format yet! I just like it when a tone-deaf singer screams a song for 2 mins and all the judges think they are wonderful!!! I've seen better at Karaoke (But then again, I do in fact run a Karaoke!!! )

I dunno I havent been watching. Do we need to watch to have strong viewpoints ?
I thought the live feeds started on the 6th but I havent a clue. The official website is rubbish but they say they will make it better for d-day Maybe you should stick up your Karoake singers Kriz. We arent fuzzy who we condemn here Im listenin to REd REd wine just now over at Kazaalite:sleep: Be wary of £5 computer keyboards cos the caps seem to get a bit sluggish ![]() gads, the black rapper on this version of Red red wine is rubbish. Occasionally, black guys cant rap. On to Morrissey singin "thats entertainment" by the Jam. |

"Occasionally, black guys cant rap" - I know! Ask Eminem !
See you next year Paj !!! The trouble with the pop world is that it is and has NEVER EVER been about any form of Talent whatsoever!!! I have over the years heard ordinary people who have no wish pursue a singing career, blow your socks off when they open there mouths and sing - they do have an inborn natural talent for singing! (and I hate them strongly! )Even those that would like to take their talent further, get nowhere because they don't look like they have just steped out of a boy band / girl band. It is VERY anoying to see this natural talent wasted whilst a bunch of talentless wannabes get TV time Look at Eva Cassidy - struggled to get a major following until after her death by cancer and then someone was just in the right place at the right time and now (whether you like that type of music or hate it) she is one of the greatest voices in female singers worldwide - shame it's all too late for her to enjoy it! |

KriZ do you sing youself to get folk started? or are you just a karoake pimp?
And I concur that you are a magnificent boon to the DS:BB board. I may not have been here long but i've enjoyed reading your posts. This board is a lot of fun unlike some other more official places

well this thread was remarkably long for what was a pointless nonsensical opening post
![]() no need for anyone to officially disappear or whatever anyway. I jjust felt like being poetic with a wasp analogy. Theres loads of good singers in every town. I would say 10% or summat can sing well (at karaoke level anyway). Doesnt always transfer into good singing at stage-level (see David Sneddon). Its true about luck Kriz. I think Evas big break (???) was Terry Wogan starting to play her songs on radio 2. A lot of it seems to be luck. Plus Davina getting every presentation job. Im a bit maxed out on BB all the same.Think my brain needs a rest to process any stuff I may or may not have learnt (my fingers need a rest from all the typing). It was easy to write longs posts at the start and maybe even middling but at the end there I was really churning out reheated stuff (possibly ) But being here has been a remarkably fun way to spend the summer Ive probably learnt loads about human behaviour (both from studying the HMs and interacting here). Sometimes takes a while for the lessons to sink in or whatever. Im rambling ....

Before you disappear, Goodfella, how about a minor ramble just to let know who Eva Cassidy is ?
I'm rather intrigued that she is deceased, yet is now considered one of the top female singers and I've never heard of her It's not Little Eva is it ( giving my age away )OK, so I could do a google, but prefer the personal touch And for everyone who's moving on, please do drop in every now and then. We'll still be going strong, if at a less hectic pace

And I award you the honorary title of Defender of the Stout for your post beyond the call of reason on the night Jon was evicted and I did a "who voted Cameron" nasty-type thread I think you were the only defender of the faith in that thread well done

Im a bit in the dark as to Eva Cassidy as well Swingaleg. I could probably do a better job on Mastermind if my subject was `Swingalegs posts circa early 21st Century` than if my chosen subject was `Eva Cassidy`
I had you down as a Terry Wogan listener too As far as I know, shes some USA singer who didnt really make it and died of colon cancer (I think) in her early 30s (? late 20s ?). After her death (or maybe just before or whatever), Terry Wogan started playing her songs on Radio 2, particularly her version of "Through the fields of barley" by Sting, and she bacame very popular in the UK (dont know about the USA). Something like that ayway. Ive only listened to her in Tower Records etc. You will possibly like her actually Shes a bit too nicey nice gentle for me. I think she was quite shy and lived for the music blah blah blah.Something like that

yeah I normally listen to 5-live all the time but for some reason I just got fed up with it. I dont listen to Radio 2 much, but its changed a lot over the last few years. Its a lot more `with it`. Its taken over R1 in the ratings in the last 5 years. Listening to Radio 1 is my idea of hell
bring back Dave Lee Travis. The man oozed class (and hair) You may look up Eva on the net now ..... or go to bed now I have told you a story

that was a nice touch this year on BB with the Shakespeare readings. Even Ray did one. And Lisas book of interpreting dreams was a highlight too Lisa would have enjoyed interpreting Jons lengthy and complex dreams

OK !!! For those vagely interested in Eva Cassidy's Bio go here!
Eva Cassidy Um Yes, Monkey thong I do scream the odd number to start off my karaoke and do a few inbetween - any that sound half like the tune I am meant to be singing are got that way by years of practice as I have no natural talent whatsoever! But it does make you appriciate good singers (whatever type) cos you know how bloodly hard it is ! I suppose my best one is "The Drugs Don't Work" by The Verve - But I've been doing it so long now, I am completely BORED to death with it! - trouble is everytime I try to "rest it" someone requests it!!!! It's also hard to do when you are Happy - it's such a depressing song that you need to get into it to do it justice - that's hard switching from "Mr Life And Soul" Karaoke host to depressed singer and back again at the end !!! (Very Mixed Emotions and a good degree of acting it ! )

Eva Cassidy is heartbreakingly poignant. Listen to her version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow or Fields of Gold, swing. I think you'll love them

She's taken a children's song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow " and made it a full blooded, moving, unique, Grown up song! As for "Fields of Gold" can't get through that one without blubbing! |
