Which hard drive to upgrade Pioneer DVR-530H?
I'd like to upgrade the HD of this recorder that currently has 160GB. My understanding is I need a IDE HDD not SATA. Please can someone confirm if this is the right one?
Has anyone successfully upgraded this unit to 500GB? Thanks |

there is a lot of information on other forums about upgrading pioneer recorders hard drives
the pioneers do use ide, there is an ide drive in mine. They have made it difficult to upgrade the drives, but all the information is on other forums in greater detail than you will find here. http://forum.videohelp.com/topic297013.html http://forum.videohelp.com/topic253998-420.html [there are 24 pages to this one] |

Thanks beintot
My brain hurts He even told me he could clone the old one to the new one but after reading your links I am not sure if his skill alone will be enough, as you said, they have made it difficult to upgrade the drives. I don't have a service disk nor remote control for him to upgrade. Other thing that came to my attention is that not many UK users upgrade their Pioneer HDD, as many posts of that thread originated from USA. I am not sure if UK models have the same restrictions but anyway I'll send my friend the link so that he can read and decide if he could still upgrade. Thanks again Last edited by Young Turks : 26-05-2008 at 21:38. Reason: spelling |
