Babies For Sale... Old Or New Line?
digimon900

It is being reported in digital spy here that there is to be a baby for sale storyline involving Tracy, Roy, and Hayley... Of course there are to be tense moments and cliffhangers one never knows what may happen perhaps after paying out the cash for a baby thats not his Roy could end up devastated when Tracy dies giving birth...
However my point actually is that the idea has been allready featured in Corrie sometime ago. I dont know who remembers Zoe who joined a cult and how Judy and Gary Mallet tried to buy her baby before having their own. I cant remember when that was but it dosent seem like very long ago and I feel that the scriptwriters are running short on ideas!

The Corrie storyline you are thinking of involving Judy and Gary Mallett attempting to 'purchase' Zoe's baby (named Shannon / Katy) was about five years ago! They then went on to have their own twins - Billy and Becky.

But you are right - it does not seem too long ago, does it!!!

However, this story has been brought up in a few soaps. As you say there is :

Corrie - Zoe and the malletts as above

Brookie - Jacqui Dixon and the Farnhams

Emmerdale - Didn't Frank Tate try to bribe Kim with $$ for James??

Eastenders - Recent story with Sharon and Vicki?

Sigh

Typical Eastenders...they get a class act like Hywel Bennett in and then shoot him - still - I'm sure he has other actors to outshine elsewhere - still; nice while it lasted...

Any other Hywel fans out there?

“Who is Hywell Bennett?”

Well, he WAS Jack Dalton in Eastenders.

Although this thread seems to have gone off track, somewhat.................................

Wasn't he partial to buying jelly babies?

I'm amazed you don't know Hywel Bennett! He's been in Loads of films and was a 1960's icon - didn't you watch Shelley - the comedy on in the 70's 80's and 90's when he played an academic layabout - i thought everyone used to watch that....

I liked his character and it could have made for interesting storylines if they bought Den back with Jack Dalton still around as they could relight the fire on their fued and have some really good storylines, but no chance now. Yeah this thread is off topic, but new users like Alison can't post new topics, so welcome to the board.

I grew up in Africa,
My parents were mission workers and the first time that I saw a television set was when I came back to the UK in 1989.
we did not actually own one or have a TV at home till 1993 and at that time I was working for sky putting in analogue receivers for people. I spent more time playing with equipment than actually watching any programmes!
Its only recently since I became a full time stay at home dad 3½ years ago that I have actually began to watch any specific programmes and series.
I couldnt tell you the names of any actors or what they starred in because I am hopeless at that but I enjoy most programmes!
Especially Coronation street which I have watched backdated on one of the satellite channels.
