I don't go that often, but anyhoo.. (All West End except for High School Musical which was utter shit anyway ):

Wicked (x2)
Avenue Q
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Spamalot
Chicago (x2)
Blood Brothers
High School Musical
Joseph
The Producers
The Lord of the Rings (x2)
Fiddler on the Roof
The Sound of Music
We Will Rock You
The Lion King (x2)
Mary Poppins
Boeing Boeing
Footloose

I'm dying to see Hairspray, Oliver!, Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot and Les Mis - but I'm too poor. A couple weeks back I went to see Avenue Q on the Monday, Wicked on the Wednesday and Lord of the Rings on the Saturday - that's dedication for ya! (I've also booked for Avenue Q again ). I really want My Fair Lady back in the theatre - I love that. I'm also performed in a few school musicals as Fagin and Prof. Henry Higgins (Bet most of you thought I was female )

It also depends what you mean by theatre - most replies have focussed on MT but lots of other types of performances go on in a theatre.
e.g. in last 6 months I have seen opera (Carmen), Derren Brown (illusioninst), Matthew Bournes Nutcracker (ballet), The Importance of Being Earnest (play)variety shows, amateur productions.

There's a lot more to keep alive ij the theatre than MT (though I also love MT!!)

I am way too old and had many many years of theatre going to put down a list.

Faves are Miss Saigon, Hairspray and Blood Brothers

I would like to thank ALW though because since Joseph i have started going back more regularily

Someone mentioned about the cost and i agree it is steep but if you keep your eyes open for good deals. last night a friend and I had a pizza and ticks for LOTR for £20. from last.minute. Fantastic value and great seats. I also saw Buddy the other week for a tenner!

That's a good deal. There's also a good deal at the moment for Avenue Q. £17.50 or £25 tickets, and I sat third row from the stage with the £25.

You reminded me it is one of my favourites as well and does the same for me as Billy E does; it makes me laugh and makes me cry.

thats true, but there are pleanty of cheap ticket sources if people know where to look

theres the tkts booth in leicester square, www.broadwaybox.com/london, www.theboxoffice.com, not to mention offers on www.officiallondontheatre.com, www.whatsonstage.com and also train companies often have offers and tie in promos with theatres (see page 2 of this thread for more sites and info

just go and see a professional show, you wont regret it (as long as its a decent cast etc)

second thoughts, it may not be a good idea, as you may end up getting as hooked as i have, and it is terrifying to think how much i have spent over the years!!

Me! I pretty much see whatever I can wherever I can. I'm going on a little trip soon and only have two full days, but have managed to fit in 5 shows and a tour of an opera house!

Too lazy to make a list, but since this is the IDA board, I'll mention that I saw Oliver! in 1996 and missed Ruthie Henshall as Nancy by two days. Really annoying as I originally planned on seeing the show on Saturday, but changed my mind and went on Monday instead.

As i'm still a teenager i don't go very often but these are the ones i've seen:

The Sound Of Music
Joseph (x3)
The Lion King
Much Ado About Nothing
Cats (x2)
Chicago
A Midsummer Nights Dream
Hamlet
Les Miserables
Romeo and Juliet
Stomp
The Lord Of The Rings

The only reason i wanted to see The Sound Of Music was because i was a huge Connie fan.
I'm going to see Oliver in January, and am extra pleased as i am a huge Jodie fan!

Living in Devon means it isn't easy to pop to the West End. However, since IDA I've persuaded a friend from Scotland to accompany me to the theatre when we have business meetings in London. So far we have seen Blood Brothers and Joseph. I've also seen Wicked (bought my Mum up for her birthday). Next on our list is Chicago and possibly Spamalot and We Will Rock You. I fancy Avenue Q and Hairspray but he doesn't seem so keen on them (though I just heard he went to the theatre in Edinburgh recently to see Dr Doolittle). Any other recommendations gratefully received!

billy elliot was fantastic when i saw it, also try and talk him into avenue q if he is not offended easily, its hysterical! i loved it, saw hair spray on broadway and loved it, not sure what the uk one is like though

wwry is a good night out, i loved it when i saw it, but that was some years ago now with the origional cast, chicago is good, but sometimes its frustrating that they go with "celebrity" appeal for promo sometimes when some are not that brillaint

sound of music is fairly good too, theres loads on in london, take a look at www.officiallondontheatre.com for ideas, and dont forget there are loads of plays on and comedies, not just muisicals

Is anyone else going to West End Live this year? I went last year and it was great. It's happening on June 21 and 22. http://www.westendlive.co.uk/ It's featuring performances from the casts of Wicked, Joseph, Avenue Q, and Sound of Music to name a few. I'm really looking forward to it.
