I know, never mind about his feelings... Its pathetic, shows like this. Thats what I just hate

I don't like the majority of these talent shows for this reason and came here just to see if there would be a thread about this. There's something about the entire set up when they have people like Michael that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. It doesn't feel right and I'm not sure it should be allowed. We behave like the freak show is a thing of the past but they're still happening, just on these kind of TV programmes rather than in a cicrus or on the boardwalk.

Why did they put him into the semis then?

I don't think they should be putting someone so bad through to this stage. By all accounts allow him to audition but not put him through this far.

Because then people have a duff one to get shot of so the others have a greater chance of getting to the final.

they were stupid to put him through.
Yes we all like to see the crap acts in the auditions but making them believe they are brilliant and have potential like that (then slaughtering them) is unfair.

I completely put the blame with the judges. They knew exactly what they were doing!

That was uncomfortable viewing.

It's not the guys fault that he was put through.

I agree hard_candy, it was very uncomfortable viewing and the poor man was totally humiliated, he is eccentric and sounded pretty awful but was clear to see that it means a lot to him. I really think it is time that the producers of BGT thought about the direction this show is going, this can't be what they really want.

For all I don't think he should be at this stage, it is his fault more than anyone elses. He turned up to audition and he turned up again to the live shows.

He'll be away off pursuing his ridiculous dream, probably doing it in a karaoke club somewhere and being shouted off the stage.

The producers can be blamed for the standard of TV and the calibre of contestant. They can't be blamed for him being an idiot and choosing to humiliate himself. (unless he turns up tomorrow with a mental health certificate, in which case it is their fault).

But the poor man is deluded C14E, he truly believes he is great. He needs protecting from himself and if do they put him through, he should be able to play without a baying mob shouting 'off' before he even plays the first note. I think it is sad.

I felt so sorry for him. He obviously enjoys doing it so why should people stop and insult him. He's not causing anybody any harm!

I thought the audience were disgusting and are obviously encoruaged to shout and jeer.. how embarassing to be a part of a country where people act like this. I guess the same sort of people used to enjoy freak shows...
the guy tried his hardest and if he wasnt good enough they shouldnt have put him through, very uncomfortable to watch someone being treated like that, Im suprised people can justify that

Totally agree with what's been said. They clearly put him through knowing the reaction he would get all in the name of 'good tv'. It just left me feeling uncomfortable and very sorry for the poor guy who clearly thought he was good...

Letting people boo and laugh at performers really is not going to be a good example to children watching. It's disgusting.

Deluded in our opinions, he's allowed to drive, have children and lead a normal life etc. (He even has a diploma!) Unless he is diagnosed in some way, then he has a right to make an arse of himself (or "showcase his talent") as much as I do. Look at Tracey Lee Collins and how opinions can be divided, some thinking he's an idiot who has been exploited while others think he is a funny eccentric! The audience should have been pulled back until he at least started, I would agree (although once whipped up, they are difficult to control).

I'm sure some people would argue that any man who sticks fire in his mouth needs protecting from himself!

The poor guy, should never have been put through to the live final. The only reason was to poke fun at him. I felt sorry for him.

I felt so sorry for him, it was horrible watching that I can't understand why people would do something like that, it's just common courtesy really, and it was incredibly rude.

Someone should let them know they aren't watching a pantomime.

I thought it was a disgrace the way he was treated, I loved the way he stood up to the bully that is Simon Cowell!.

He was clearly put through just so he could be humiliated - that's the awful thing. Ant and Dec didn't try to control the crowd beforehand so the poor guy was getting jeered before he even started.

Yeah he should never have been put through in the first place and I did feel sorry for him when everyone was booing. His performance was poor but it was uncomfortable to see such a large negative reaction that lasted for a long time.

I felt a bit sorry for him. It's not his fault he got put through to the semis.

The audience should have booed once and then left him alone. It was quite uncomfortable viewing.

They put him through for a laugh, it was obvious Pierce was taking the p**s when he said he had improved. And that audience booing him was awful, imagine how he felt? I hate that, it's bullying. There is simply no need for it. In the auditions, fine that's what happens. But its not only that. He took the place of someone with talent!

I agree. To be fair, Simon never thought he should have been put through and I couldn't understand Peirs and Amanda fighting for him. He cost someone better their place.

I actually found him quite arrogant going on about his music diploma and arguing with Simon. He had no talent at all and was completely deluded.
