I argree that Faryl is excellent, but I get the feeling she won't win because they'll want a different type of singer, or a different act altogether.”

Ta Holly (seen you on the I'd Do Anything thread I think?!) - we do get around

She was pretty good (now I remember who she is) but it just seems wrong that someone who's already been on TV before should be on one of these shows...

Bloomin 'eck that Iona lass can get into some positions can't she

Andrew was good, but I'd like to see a different type of winner this year.

Judging from ITV2, Andrew's singing Tears In Heaven. He really ought to sail through.

As for the other act, I'd like to see Bang On go through. But given who went through tonight, I'm not prepared to second guess the GBP - mediocrity (and animal lovers) seem to have won through tonight.

I seem to be one of the few people that didn't like flava judging by this thread

I don't rate Andrew either. I've seen a lot of Choirs in my time and he's just another of those singers.

No one thinks Cheeky Monkeys will go through then? I do.

I just hope Kay & Harvey don't get booed.

Hmm, it seems that I appear to be alone in not rating Andrew. He was a good singer but after seven years training he would be. I have heard better choristers though.

I much preferred Charlie Green, not as technically good, but lots more warmth and appeal as well as really enjoying performing.

(Watching More Talent - Andrew is doing Tears in Heaven tomorrow - no doubt Amanda will be in floods of tears and Simon will be working out how quickly he can get him in the studio before the voice breaks??)

Having seen a few posts - I am not alone!!!

I don't think they will. I find them a little bit annoying, but of course I'm only one person. I just have a feeling it'll be Andrew and Flava through.

Flava were the hoodies? Andrew has to get through this, and he's a cool kid with a great voice. If anything beats him it will be the media attention and his nerves, he looked like he was about to throw before the first audition.

I forgot about charlie green now he's a singer i wouldnt mind doing well. I also quite liked the two young guys who worked in tesco? forgot their names.
But i still think it'd be nice if someone other then a singer won this year.

Charlie IS as technically good, but for a ten year old I think he needs to sing something higher.

I've heard better choristers, easily, but he's in my top 5 of the talented acts on there easily and on that basis should make the last 10. He's good.

Andrew is just a quiet kid so he's not going to be a cocky git, he's just going to let his singing do the talking. I don't think he can do loud, and Alex showed how annoying it is when a kid does that anyway.

Don't forget Charlie Green has had training since he was 2/3 as well, so a similar length of time, and Andrew didn't realise he could sing until a teacher told his mum to audition for the cathedral when he was about six. So he probably wouldn't have started until he was 7 or 8 and certainly wouldn't have been in the cathedral properly for about a year after that.

I hope Andrew wins, I love his voice. And he's singing Tears In Heaven, which I love when The Choirboys sing it.

And I hope Flava go through too. They were great.

I loved, loved Iona but I just doubt she'll make it through. She's not the type they usually seem to go for but I hope I'm surprised. She was amazing.

Andrew is a dead cert. He's young, singing and has a sob story, they'll push him to get through.

I didn't think Flava were as amazing as the judges raved although I liked them and would like to see what they'll do next.

Didn't really see enough of the Mandy Ellen dancers the first time or Bang On or Sauris Nandi come to think of it. But they all look pretty good so looking forward to a full performance.

How the heck Kay and Harvey made it through to the semi-final, I don't know. They set them up to fail miserably from the start, they hated them at the audition, put them through for no real reason and they actually put them on the live show. Why bother putting them (and us) through it all again with the booing. Especially if she has to make an introduction and blithers on like last time.

Oh and I forgot the Cheeky Monkeys which I think says it all. Cute but nothing really memorable.

If Andy is singing Tears in Heaven he is only following in the footsteps of Patrick Aspbury anyway, but Andy has a nicer voice. Interesting he's buying into all the choirboy cliches. He has a better voice than that song anyway.

I'd quite like to see him do something *really* choirboy like Walking in the Air, it's pretty cliched but it's hard to actually make music out of.

That is why they are there - I would expect there will be one really naff act each night for the audience to heckle and abuse.
