Yep they'll have to pull out all the stops!

I really liked Signature, thought they were different from most dance acts, but they will have to work really really hard to keep the 'surprise' momentum going on Saturday night. The best of the night, last night, though. (Tonights' acts look pretty indifferent if the clips on BG-More-T are anything to go by).

How did they keep their 'surprise' momentum last night from the audition? I must have missed it.

That's their problem, I don't think they did, but part of their act is supposed to be an element of surprise - at least that's what they themselves more or less said ..... I still thought they were good.

Oh no doubt they were entertaining. But the 'surprise' element was quite simply the 2nd guy coming on.

Neither do I.

What is original about being a Michael Jackson impersonator

Why not just have the backing dancers

They have nowhere to go

No it wasn't, their act both times has been Michael Jackson with a BIT of Banghra. The music is mainly Jackson, and of the many people on stage in the semi-final, most of it was Jackson dance moves. For the one guy especially, it's practically Stars In Their Eyes without the singing.

I'm not saying it wasn't an enjoyable act, I'm just saying it is hardly the kind of thing that warrants the kind of exposure BGT offers. Back room of a pub, yes; prime time ITV1, no.

No you would not. You'd be left with musicians, comedians, magicians, all sorts of stuff. Genuinely talented people who could use a show like BGT to give them a genuine start toward a big career, rather than wasting the show's potential by giving airtime to acts that are only there for their "cute" value.

For me, someone like Paul Potts is a perfect BGT act, as although he's a singer, he's not the sort of singer that could win X Factor, as you can't expect an opera singer to fit in with the themed weeks that show demands.

Yes, I raised this on another thread. There isn't anywhere for either Andrew or the young girl singer to showcase this. I can't think a choirboy would last long on X-factor. Of the decent singers left in BGT the only one who would really stand a fighting chance is Charlie and he's only 11.

I like them - they are different which to me is important. As good as some of the singers are, I would prefer to see a different act win (ie like this one or Kate and Gin).

They are funny and talented IMO, and they leave the crowd, from what I saw, well entertained.

If any of you are doubting Suleman's ability as a dancer, then take a look at this:

Absolutely brilliant!

Just watched the youtube link form above. Didn't make me like him any better. Yes he does a god Jackson dance, but thats it. So did the backing dancers.

But they will be performing in front of the royal "variety" show. Surely Dancing is a talent. I think it would be unfair to restrict dancers and animal acts. Like it or not, they are a talent. So is singing so I can see why they are accepted on the show. However I dont really want another singer to win this year despite how good they are and despite that it being a different singing style. We have the x-factor for that and yes, I do think there is a market for them there. G4 and Ryddion were hardly stereotypical pop acts but were extreamly popular with the public and still are. I would rather they wait until they're fourteen and audtion there.

IMO this act is just as deserving of winning as all the others that have been put through so far. They, and Kate and Gin were the only ones I found entertaining. Scarla too. However the rest left me cold. Seen it all before ....

Am I reading some of these post right?

You think that a balding 9th rate Michael Jackson weirdo impersonator and a fat bloke with a turban* are in some sad deluded way, talented?

They went through whilst people with actual talent went out.

* for racial equality you can also get fat blokes without burbans but they weren't on the show.

Yes I think they are talented.

I think Signature are good, but they don't make me think'wow' when I watch them, so I don't think they should win the whole competition.

Their audition was the best moment of the whole show. The only time I stopped being a cynic and just enjoyed what I was watching. The audience erupted for them as well.

The performance the other night wasn't half as much fun, but it still reminded me of when I was a kid and first watched the video for Thriller with my friends, one of whom was left in tears

Yeah, they don't have the wow factor. They just have the "that was good" factor.

You watch any act on this show more than one or two times and the "Wow" factor soon disappears.

I still like watching a lot of them but for Signature it has completely gone now. The second one was pretty much nothing like the first and the Michael Jackson tribute thing appears very cheesy now.

Signature is a guy who raises his arms and shrugs his shoulders, oh, he also does a come on signal to the audience. In Signature there is also a guy who, dances like Michael Jackson and he also, dances like Michael Jackson.

With the help of a dance troupe and an amazing set up thanks to the fact MIchael Jackson is an artist with Sony BMG and they are promoting Michael Jackson's 25 years of Thriller, they get the most expensive stage set yet.

Also there was no surprise. It was the same as teh audience (minus the surprise) in that, first Michael Jackson singer arrives:

a) lifts leg
b) points left (grips bottom lip in teeth)
c) points right (grips bottom lip in teeth)
d) grabs crotch and jiggies forward
e) maybe a shrugging of the left shoulder and then the right

back to a and repeat and then guy comes out of coffin! Oh that's original! No it's not, it was done 25 years ago by Michael Jackson, like the dancing and the raising of the arms and shrugging of the shoulders.

Then they have a fight and then they dance together, the same moves as the audition and they end up on the floor. Guy in Turban tries to do the splits again but fails (like in the audition), Michael Jackson interpreter hides behind big turban guy because he has a bald patch.

End of performance. We're just normal guys with strange obsessions blah blah blah. Simon sees pound signs because Michael Jackson will sell more Thriller albums after tonight.

The End.

I'm trying to hold judgement because the surprise factor was great at audition stage, really got everyone going. But their performance during the semi finals was disappointing, the lack of a surprise factor turned them into a dance group. We've got enough of them in the SFs, we don't/didn't need another.

I liked them first and second time around and I think the RVS are going to love them a third time too.

They are the type of act that are always going to raise a smile and get the audience going no matter how many times they repeat their performance.

This is the measurement of a good act IMO.

I really don't understand what there is to analyse so much about.

George Sampson was also great tonight, as were Strike.

Surely all of these acts could become tedious and boring if you watch them over and over again? I.e. Just like your favourite song needs a rest now and again.

All of these acts are down to personal preference, but some are far superior to others...and Signature is definitely one of them and deserve some respect for the choreography and originality. And so what if the second show was much the same as the first one? It was the first one that captured the audience in the first place and the one that they will be happy to see over and over again, and at the RVS if they win.
